Abstract: A wire grid polarizer includes a thin and thus flexible glass substrate (102), and an optical resin layer (120) positioned over at least a portion of the glass substrate, the optical resin layer including, a base portion and a plurality of ribs extending from the base portion, where individual ribs of the plurality of ribs are spaced apart from one another by a pitch that is between about 40 nm and 240 nm, and where the individual ribs of the plurality of ribs define gaps between adjacent ribs and none of the gaps are greater than 10 microns over a length of the wire grid polarizer.
