  • Publication number: 20160031148
Abstract: Described are a mold and molding process for manufacturing devices and containers that are scalable, modular, and lockable laterally and vertically with other like devices or containers. The mold is formed with a cup mold and top end mold sections specially designed to allow for molding and demolding a container with an undercut. The cup mold includes, on a vertical wall, one or more undercuts. Multiple undercuts may further form tongues with undercuts each of which forms a groove with undercuts on the molded article, and/or one or more grooves with undercuts each of which form a tongue with undercuts in the molded article. Molding and Demolding of the article with undercuts is further enabled by utilizing an improved method of molding said article with an undercut, and demolding said article from the mold once it is molded, by improvements to each stage of the molding process, including the preform stage, the conditioning station stage, the blow stage and the release stage.

  • Publication number: 20150069063
Abstract: A container lid is provided having a lid insert constructed of a paper-based material and a peripheral ring constructed of a plastic material. The ring is configured to be separated from the lid insert upon disposal. The lid insert includes a peripheral rim extending outwardly from a central cover portion. The ring includes an outwardly extending flange and a skirt depending downwardly from the flange. A first undercut extends inwardly from the skirt defining a channel sized and shaped for receiving an outer edge of the lid insert's peripheral rim. The channel may alternatively be sized and shaped for also receiving an outer edge of a peripheral rim of a container base to which the lid is attached. Another embodiment includes a second undercut located beneath the first undercut and defining a second channel into which an outer edge of the rim of the container base may be received.

  • Patent number: 8894018
Abstract: This invention discloses a method to break down, destabilize, or destroy an in flight wake vortex shed from an aircraft's wing. The wingtip has a winglet mounted to an extremity of the wing, and means for actuating displacement of the winglet relative to the wing. The winglet is displaced from a stationary position, in which the in flight wake vortex is stable, to a continuous moving condition, in which the winglet is displaced to a secondary temporary stationary position, remote from the initial stationary position, and having any angle relative to a plane extending through a vertical, longitudinal, or lateral axis of the aircraft to alter the winglet's angle of attack, and persisting in the moving condition as long as required to break down, destabilize or destroy the in flight wake vortex. The invention includes a wingtip arrangement for use in the method and an aircraft including the wingtip arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20140289644
Abstract: Communication devices, computer readable media and methods are provided for managing a group messaging session. A graphical user interface comprising a conversation window and a multiplicity of avatars is displayed. Each avatar represents one of a multiplicity of group members. Responsive to transmission of a multicast message from a sending communication device for delivery to the multiplicity of group members, a first status update message indicating delivery of the multicast message to a corresponding receiving communication device for each group member is received. Responsive to receiving the status update message, a delivery notification for each of the multiplicity of group members is displayed. The notification is associated with a corresponding one of the avatars. Further, a second status update message indicating that the multicast message was read at a corresponding receiving communication device is received and a read notification for each of the multiplicity of group members is displayed.

  • Patent number: 8776406
Abstract: A reversible wing plow including a hitch, a moldboard and a moldboard shifting mechanism. The hitch is coupleable to the rear of a prime mover. The moldboard is operably coupled to the hitch proximate an inboard end and rotatable about a first horizontal axis that extends outwardly from the hitch generally parallel to a direction of forward movement of the prime mover. The moldboard shifting mechanism includes first and second linear actuators, both of which are coupled to the hitch at one end and coupled to opposing sides of a rotation crank plate on the other end. The crank plate is further operably coupled to the moldboard, whereby the moldboard is rotatably shiftable to the driver or passenger side of the prime mover, or to a vertically oriented transport position.

  • Patent number: 8761737
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for managing and delivering status notifications relating to multicast messages transmitted from a sending communication device to multiple recipient communication devices. Each communication device is provided with a status agent for detecting transmission of messages to a recipient device and receipt of messages from a sending device. Upon transmission, the status agent notifies a status service of the outbound message. Upon receipt of the multicast message by one of the recipients or upon the message being marked read, the recipient status agent notifies the status service. The status service then notifies the status agent of the sending device that the message has been received or read by that recipient, so that the sending device's status agent can notify a corresponding messaging application. The status service operates to reconcile outbound message notifications and received or read status updates for multicast messages.
