  • Publication number: 20210381446
Abstract: A controller and a method for a hybrid drive, which includes an internal combustion engine and an electrical machine are provided. The internal combustion engine includes adjustment devices that deactivate the intake and exhaust valve opening actuation. The controller is designed in such a way that, in the case of at least one specified condition (such as regeneration during unfired overrun or in the case of electric travel, in particular in the case of operation with high activation frequency of the internal combustion engine, e.g., in charge sustaining or HEV operation), the intake and exhaust valves are kept at least approximately (preferably completely) closed at least approximately simultaneously while the internal combustion engine is unfired. The internal combustion engine must be connected to the electrical machine. If there is a disconnect clutch, the disconnect clutch is brought into the closed state or remains closed.

  • Publication number: 20210377340
Abstract: Techniques for adjusting a compute capacity of a cloud computing system. In an example, a compute scaling application accesses, from a cloud computing system, a compute capacity indicating a number of allocated compute instances of a cloud computing system and usage metrics indicating pending task requests in a queue of the cloud computing system. The compute scaling application determines, for the cloud computing system, a compute scaling adjustment by applying a machine learning model to the compute capability of the cloud computing system and the usage metrics. The compute scaling adjustment indicates an adjustment to a number of compute instances of the cloud computing system. The compute scaling application provides the compute scaling adjustment to the cloud computing system. The cloud computing system adjusts a number of allocated compute instances.

  • Publication number: 20210346686
Abstract: An implantable electrode lead having proximal and distal ends, comprising an electrode lead body and a pulling element. The pulling element has first and second ends. At the first end, the pulling element is connected to the distal end of the electrode lead or in the vicinity of the electrode lead distal end; referred to as the distal region of the electrode lead. Proceeding from the joining site between the first end of the pulling element and the electrode lead, the pulling element extends from the first end thereof toward the second end thereof to the proximal end of the electrode lead. The pulling element, proceeding from the joining site, extends outside the electrode lead body. A tensile force exerted onto the second end of the pulling element exerts a bending moment onto the electrode lead distal region. This bending moment results in bending of the electrode lead distal region.

  • Patent number: 11167748
Abstract: A method for exiting from a recuperation phase in a parallel hybrid vehicle includes, in a first step, the vehicle is in a recuperation phase, started by means of a trigger, with a predefined recuperation driving demand, and, in a second step, the electric machine is brought to an increased rotational speed during the recuperation phase. In a third step, a phase for departing from the recuperation phase is started by means of a trigger, wherein, in this phase, the internal combustion engine is made available for coupling to the electric machine, such that a target rotational speed determined between the internal combustion engine to be connected and the electric machine for the connection to the transmission input is set, and in parallel, by means of an upshift, a highest possible gear ratio for the connection to the drivetrain is set, in order to satisfy a present driving demand. In a fourth step, the departure from the recuperation phase is completed.

  • Patent number: 10734996
Abstract: A sensor apparatus for detecting a target object is provided, together with a corresponding method for operating the sensor apparatus. The sensor apparatus comprises a transmitter device which is operated by periodic excitation signals at a basic frequency, a receiver device which couples to the transmitter device, wherein the coupling is dependent on a relative position of the target object with respect to the receiver device, and the receiver device delivers signals at the basic frequency which are dependent on the relative position of the target object with respect to the receiver device. A threshold value checking device checks whether signals lie within or outside a threshold value range. A linking device acts on signals from the receiver device or signals derived therefrom in such a way that signals or signal combinations are shifted into the threshold value range insofar as they previously lay outside this range.
