    Abstract: An aircraft passenger seat that includes a frame with a seat bottom mounted for translating fore and aft movement, and a seat back linked to the seat bottom and mounted for generally vertical movement between a lowered and upright position. A stationary seat back shell assembly is provided within which the seat back is mounted for movement. A seat back position indicator is carried by the shell proximate a top end thereof and cooperates with the seat back. The seat back position indicator has a first condition indicating that the seat back is in the lowered position within the shell and a second condition indicating that the seat back is in the upright position within the shell.
