  • Publication number: 20240126120
Abstract: A display may have a pixel array such as a liquid crystal pixel array. The pixel array may be illuminated with backlight illumination from a direct-lit backlight unit. The backlight unit may include an array of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on a printed circuit board. The display may have a notch to accommodate an input-output component. Reflective layers may be included in the notch. The backlight may include a color conversion layer with a property that varies as a function of position. • Patent number: 9434011
Abstract: A coolant spray nozzle for use in conjunction with a cutter with a coolant duct wherein the cutter retains a cutting insert with a cutting edge that engages a workpiece at an insert-chip interface having a length. The coolant spray nozzle includes a coolant spray nozzle body containing a bore and an adjustable fan spray nipple having a slot with a slot opening through which coolant discharges in a fan-shaped coolant spray so as to impinge the insert-chip interface along substantially the entire length of the insert-chip interface.

  • Patent number: 7547163
Abstract: A clamping tool holder includes a tool holder body and a clamp for clamping a cutting insert. The clamp causes the cutting insert to press against the bottom and the side walls of an insert-receiving pocket of the tool holder body. The tool holder body has an inclined surface sloping inward in a direction away from the insert-receiving pocket. The clamp has an inclined surface that acts as a ramp with the inclined surface of the tool holder body. A guide pin prevents the clamp from twisting during tightening or loosening of the clamp. When a clamp screw is tightened, a nub of the clamp engages only an inside rearward surface of a mounting bore of the insert along a line of contact and the top surface of the cutting insert. In addition, only a forward lower face of a head portion of the clamp screw engages a top surface of the clamp.

  • Patent number: 6190143
Abstract: An improved piston-type vacuum pump comprises a reciprocating piston disposed within a cylinder having a proximal end and a distal end, an inlet port formed in the side of the cylinder near the proximal end, and a spring-biased outlet valve, such as a poppet valve or a rocker valve, disposed at the distal end of the cylinder. The piston stroke is configured to provide zero or negative clearance between the piston head and the face of the outlet valve at the end of the compression stroke. The piston reciprocates within the cylinder from a first position wherein the surface of the piston head is proximal of the inlet port, to a second position wherein the surface of the piston head is beyond the distal end of the cylinder, so as to contact the face of the outlet valve in its open position.
