  • Patent number: 6269275
Abstract: A method and system for customizing and distributing for user sites is disclosed and includes gathering user profile information to create data objects based on individual user profile information. The data objects are accessible locally in a group of user computer sites. Presentation logic objects employing the data objects are created to facilitate the creation of individual customized presentations, at the user sites. The data objects are accessible locally at the user computer sites. Presentation media objects are broadcasted to the computer sites. Certain ones of the media components of the media objects are selected in response to the individual presentation logic objects and the individual data objects to create customized presentations for the users at their user sites.

  • Patent number: 5550735
Abstract: A compiling system which can mass produce individually customized media, such as videotapes in a highly efficient and cost effective manner. High volume production is realized by matrixing synchronized system resources, such as videodisc players, videocassette recorders, and graphic generator units. The resources are managed using a predetermined client/server model of computing over a local area network. The resources are synchronized by supplying all time dependent system nodes with the same time base criteria, which in turn, is also utilized to synchronize non-time dependent resources.

  • Patent number: 5099422
Abstract: The compiling system and method of the present invention enables the recording of individually customized information onto blank storage media devices, and includes a data base memory device for storing information signals indicative of customized recipient information pertaining to a group of recipients. A presentation memory device stores a group of pre-recorded signals indicative of a group of information segments to be compiled selectively. A computing device responds to stored information signals indicative of customized recipient information for selecting certain ones of said pre-recorded signals indicative of certain ones of said segments and for causing signals indicative of certain ones of said segments to be retrieved selectively in a given sequence for compilation purposes. A recording device responds to retrieved signals indicative of certain ones of said segments for storing said retrieved signals onto individual ones of the storage media devices.

  • Patent number: 4863384
Abstract: A personalized feedback system is disclosed that employs survey questionaires for enabling procurement of personalized data indicative of the needs of a user. Compilation components are included for providing computer-readable personal data signals indicative of a compilation of data procured with the survey questionnaires for an individual user. Feedback presentation memory components store a group of pre-recorded feedback display signals that are indicative of a group of vignettes illustrative of various results of the personal data, and recording components store data signals indicative of the compilation of data and the feedback display signals to provide a feedback presentation illustrating results for the user. Switching components responsive to the data signals are included for causing the recoding components to store personal data signals for a certain user along with selected ones of the feedback display signals corresponding to the stored performance data signals in a certain sequence.

  • Patent number: 4671772
Abstract: A performance appraisal and training system employs a survey arrangement for procuring performance appraisal data indicative of the performance of a user to be trained, and a data delivery medium for providing computer-readable compiled performance data signals indicative of compiled performance data of the user. Feedback presentation memory components are provided for storing prerecorded feedback display signals indicative of a group of motion picture vignettes illustrative of various situations resulting from various types of performances. A computer responds to the performance data signals and to the display signals for displaying to the user both the compiled performance data and selected corresponding ones of stored motion picture vignettes to illustrate situations resulting from the past performance of the user.
