  • Patent number: 11307436
Abstract: A finished uncut spectacle lens has a curved front surface including an optical bowl with a convex curvature and a peripheral lentic zone surrounding the optical bowl. The curvature of the curved front surface in the peripheral lentic zone is flatter than in the optical bowl. The optical bowl size is large enough that a lens filling the entire frame can be glazed from it. The inclusion of a flatter peripheral lentic zone enables a larger diameter of the finished unglazed lens (d) with larger edge thickness than would be possible if the same back surface was cut on a semi-finished blank having a uniform spherical front, without compromise to the finished lens center thickness. In addition, a method of manufacturing such a spectacle lens and a semi-finished lens blank used in the method are provided.

  • Patent number: 10705802
Abstract: Data type configuration data is expressed and deployed to a database system to obtain a relational representation of the data types in addition to the compile code representation. Users or developers extend the data types by adding data to the relational representation, and the runtime environment operates off of the relational representation. Because the data types are extended (such as by creating new entities) using the data type tables in the relational representation, the extensions obtain the benefits of the type checking performed at compile time.

  • Patent number: 10437832
Abstract: Some database tables include a relational field, where a record of the table stores a foreign-key reference value that identifies a related record of a second table. While fulfilling a request comprising a query over the database, the system may identify a context of the request, wherein the context is supplemental to the query, and wherein the context relates to the relational field. For example, a security policy may permit a requester to query the first table, but restrict the requester from accessing the second table that the relational field of the first table references, where dereferencing the relational field may cause unexpected results. Instead, the system may evaluate the context of the request, and may fulfill the request based on the context by providing a response that substitutes, for the value that references the second table, a substitute value that does not reference the second table.
