    Abstract: A method for increasing the stability of a thermoplastic resin in the presence of water is disclosed wherein said method comprises adding to said resin a stabilizing amount of a blend of: (A) at least one aromatic amine antioxidant; and (B) at least one sterically hindered phenol antioxidant. Such stabilized resins, which are preferably high density polyethylene, are especially useful for the fabrication of pipes for the transport of water, particularly chlorinated potable water.
