  • Patent number: 8819566
Abstract: Solutions for providing context-driven communications mode determinations. Some such solutions use a communications hub located in a home (e.g., a user supersystem) to facilitate context-driven, multi-modal communications. For example, a tablet system may be used as a graphical communications hub in a family's home, used by the family to communicate to and from the home via multiple communications modes (e.g., family chat, family activities, user-based messaging, etc.) over one or more communications channels. Determination of an appropriate mode for communications may be driven by contextual (rather that channel-based) factors relating to the communications.

  • Patent number: 8661749
Abstract: A system and method for securing a vinyl pool stair liner to a set of pool stairs. The system includes a locking component that is secured to the stairs and a locking rod that is selectively engageable in a channel in the upper end of the locking component. The locking rod secures a flap of vinyl extending outwardly from an exterior surface of the stair liner into the channel and thereby secures the stair liner to the pool stairs. An installation tool is used to push the locking rod into the channel of the locking component. The locking rod is removable from the locking component to release the stair liner if it is determined that the liner should be replaced at a later date.

  • Publication number: 20130085823
Abstract: A retailer system responds to a request to view an electronic product offerings publication by using data indicative of a geographic location to select from a plurality of retailer locations at least one retailer location and by retrieving inventory related information for the selected at least one retailer location. The retrieved inventory related information is then used to select product offerings from a repository of product offerings whereupon an electronic product offerings publication container is populated with the product offerings selected from the repository of product offerings. The populated electronic product offerings publications container is then returned to the requester as the requested product offerings publication.

  • Publication number: 20120321806
Abstract: A kit for temporarily relieving flood water seep includes a unitized enclosure with segregated containers for a prepolymer and catalyst, respectively. A mixer connected to the unitized enclosure combines the catalyst and prepolymer and a disperser connected to mixer sprays the combined catalyst and prepolymer. The prepolymer and catalyst, in contact with water, forms a pliable solid of density of at least about 7 lb./cu.ft. The kit may be a consumer article, and the polymer can be removable after flooding subsides.

  • Publication number: 20120297532
Abstract: A sealing member for securing a vinyl pool liner to a stair system and including a first sealing component which is secured along a side wall defining the stairs; a bottom sealing component secured to the wall beneath the stairs and a corner assembly disposed between the two. All of the first and bottom sealing components and the corner assembly include an inner frame member and an outer frame member which are configured to snap-fittingly engage each other and clamp a portion of the liner between them. The corner assembly is curved and a cover is engaged over the outer frame member of the corner assembly to prevent accidental disengagement thereof. The cover extends for a distance along each of the first and bottom sealing components. The outer frame member defines a plurality of apertures in its upper surface which are configured to receive studs extending outwardly from the cover.

  • Patent number: 8264219
Abstract: An in-line pipe inspection tool has one or more inspection platforms (28, 30) which are connected to an elongate wheeled trolley by link arms (20 to 26). The trolley unit (10, 12) has drive means for driving the point of connection of the first link arm (20, 22) to the trolley (10) relative to the point of connection of the second link arm (24, 26) to the trolley (12), thereby to move the inspection platforms (28, 30) in a direction perpendicular to the direction of elongation of the trolley (10, 12). Thus the inspection platforms (28, 30) are movable which is relative to the trolley (10, 12) to permit the tool to be adapted to pipelines of different diameters. Moreover, the platforms (28, 30) preferably have permanent magnets which contain a rotatable magnet. The rotatable magnet permits the net magnetic field generated by the platform to be varied.

  • Patent number: 8165584
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining an optimal range of frequencies of electromagnetic waves are described. In some embodiments, mobile voice communications devices measure average power received from certain ranges of such frequencies, each range associated with a communications service provider. A cost may be associated with each range. An optimal range of frequencies may be determined based on these factors. Each device may also receive a set of data identifying the location of the device. Each device may transmit one or more communications signals to a CIP with such measurements and location information, and some of this information may be stored in a database.

  • Publication number: 20110296354
Abstract: Solutions for providing intuitive, content-driven navigation through communications and multimedia services offered through, e.g., a user supersystem as a communications hub. For example, in some implementations, various data flows are traversed to move between applications according to interactions with content on those screens, rather than by using icons. In some cases, a small, static set of icons is used to navigate between a set of landing screens representing broad categories of functionality. Within each landing screen environment, content is used to drive navigation to and through application functionality.

  • Publication number: 20110276895
Abstract: Solutions for capturing and displaying conversation history for providing conversation capture functionality. Some such solutions use a user supersystem as a communications hub to capture and/or generate relevant information for enhancing conversations with contacts, including address book information, contact notes, conversation history information, and/or conversation anchors. The information may then be processed for display to the user via a graphical interface.
