Patent number: 7627520Abstract: A system and method calculate an optimal rates in a multi-source price engine in over the counter (OTC) markets. The system and method integrate rates from multiple liquidity sources to generate an output rate that can be transacted upon. Specifically, the system and method calculate a best bid/offer rate from input rates provided by multiple liquidity sources and apply a target spread and minimum profit to the best bid/offer rate to generate an optimal output rate. The optimal output rate may be a function of many factors, including market conditions, customer credit, and the preferences of the market maker or broker.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2006Date of Patent: December 1, 2009Assignee: Currenex, Inc.Inventors: Kelly James Fletcher Wilson, Cary David Rosenwald, Sean Michael Gilman, Richard Hartheimer

Patent number: 7584145Abstract: A system and method provide price validation for market makers in over the counter (OTC) markets. Specifically, the system compares a new or existing price provided by a market maker with a base rate. If the unilateral difference is less than or equal to a configurable tolerance, the price may be added to validated rates. The unilateral difference is an amount that the new bid source rate is greater than the bid base rate or an amount that the new offer source rate is less than the offer base rate. On the other hand, if the difference is more than the tolerance, the price may be ignored or removed by the system. As a result, the system provides protection against trading on invalid off-market rates or stale rates that is caused by system latency or other types of temporary anomalies.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 2006Date of Patent: September 1, 2009Assignee: Currenex, Inc.Inventors: Romain Rossier, David Vinh Lu, Patrick William Howard, Sean Michael Gilman, Cary David Rosenwald, Richard Hartheimer

Publication number: 20030206891Abstract: This invention concerns new configurations for biological switches and provides new methods and materials useful for regulating biological events in animal cells. The invention involves recombinant DNA constructs comprising DNA sequences derived from sequences encoding the proteins FRAP, Tor1, Tor2 and other proteins capable of binding to FKBP:rapamycin, other recombinant DNA constructs comprising DNA sequences encoding part or all of an FKBP protein, the proteins encoded by those constructs, cells (especially animal cells) transformed with one or more of the constructs, small molecules (multivalent multimerizing agents) which bind to and are capable of inducing multimerization of the chimeric proteins, and methods for preparing and using the foregoing, including methods involving the intramuscular delivery of such recombinant DNA constructs in AAV virus particles.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2003Publication date: November 6, 2003Applicant: ARIAD Gene Therapeutics, Inc.Inventors: Timothy P. Clackson, Michael Gilman, Dennis Holt

Patent number: 4260354Abstract: Cup handles made from clay have their seams removed by the handle being pushed along a passage of appropriate cross-section in a sponge. The sponge is washed after use by the introduction of water into the passage and by squeezing the sponge. The invention provides for the outer surface of the sponge to be treated all over to render it at least substantially impermeable to water. In use, when the sponge is squeezed, water is expelled only from the passage, and thus the uncontrolled flow of water encountered with sponges having permeable outer surfaces is avoided. Rigid plates may cover those parallel faces of the sponge into which the ends of the passage open, the plates having slots aligned with the ends of the passage. The sponges may be incorporated in a handle de-seaming machine operating cyclically.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1979Date of Patent: April 7, 1981Assignee: Service (Engineers) LimitedInventors: Michael Gilman, Robert M.
