  • Patent number: 8682066
Abstract: A method of extracting data from an identifiable monochromatic pattern. The method comprises separating a polychromatic optical signal, received from an object having identifiable monochromatic pattern, into a plurality of wavelength components, separately capturing each of the wavelength components, reconstructing a plurality of images each from a different wavelength component, detecting the identifiable monochromatic pattern in one or more of the images, and extracting data associated with or encoded by the detected identifiable monochromatic pattern. The images have different depths of field.

  • Publication number: 20130194481
Abstract: Snapshot spectral imagers comprise an imaging lens, a dispersed image sensor and a restricted isometry property (RIP) diffuser inserted in the optical path between the source image and the image sensor. The imagers are used to obtain a plurality of spectral images of the source object in different spectral bands in a single shot. In some embodiments, the RIP diffuser is one dimensional. An optional disperser may be added in the optical path, to provide further dispersion at the image sensor. In some embodiments, all imager components except the RIP diffuser may be part of a digital camera, with the RIP diffuser added externally. In some embodiments, the RIP diffuser may be included internally in a digital camera.

  • Patent number: 8109635
Abstract: A system and method are presented for use in imaging the patient's retina. A light source unit is provided including a light emitting diode (LED) arrangement comprising multiple LEDs of different wavelength ranges. A light guide arrangement is used with the LEDs arrangement and is configured for coupling light from the LEDs and providing output light beams of a desired shape. The illuminating light is directed towards a region on the retina, and light returned from the illuminated region is collected and directed to an image detector unit. The invention enables the use of LED light at high intensity as required in the eye retina imaging, while maintaining the required high-quality imaging. Also, the invention provides for simultaneous or quasi-simultaneous as well as high-speed imaging in FA and ICG imaging procedures, thereby satisfying a long felt need in ophthalmology.

  • Patent number: 8081244
Abstract: Digital cameras for spectrally imaging an object or scene comprise an imaging component, a fixed one-dimensional disperser and an image sensor having sensor pixels, the disperser and image sensor arranged with matching optical parameters and in a predetermined spatial relationship. Each sensor pixel detects multiplexed spectral information from at least two adjacent object points and the spectral information detected by each sensor pixel is demultiplexed and processed into spectral-spatial data to provide spectral images.

  • Publication number: 20100201895
Abstract: An image projection system is presented. The system comprises an optical unit and a connectable thereto control unit. The optical unit is configured to define an illumination channel for illuminating an object, an imaging channel for creating an image of the object from light collected therefrom and generating image data indicative thereof, and a projection channel for projecting an image of the object on a projection target. The control unit is configured and operable for receiving and analyzing the image data, and for controlling the image creation and projection.

  • Publication number: 20100177253
Abstract: A coherent light source system is presented. The system comprises at least one coherent light emitter producing a coherent light beam, a focusing lens unit, and a beam shaper unit, the beam shaper unit being accommodated between the coherent light emitter and the collimating lens unit being in a front focal plane of the focusing lens unit, thereby providing a substantially uniform profile and high-degree collimation at a desired plane in an optical path of light propagation.
