  • Publication number: 20240328394
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods for rotating a locked rotor of a wind turbine in case of an imbalance in a rotor plane of the rotor, comprising: rotating the rotor using an inching tool to apply torque on a drive train of the wind turbine to reduce the imbalance in the rotor plane; and removing a locking pin from a locking disc operatively connected to the rotor after reducing the imbalance in the rotor plane. The methods further comprise estimating a direction of a torque load due to the imbalance in the rotor plane using one or more sensors, and impeding the inching tool to apply torque on the drive train of the wind turbine in the estimated direction of the torque load due to the imbalance. The present disclosure further relates to inching tools and to methods for installing rotor blades on a hub of a wind turbine.

  • Patent number: 8028686
Abstract: A thin veneer stone saw and related methods are provided. The thin veneer stone saw includes one or more circular saw blades. In an embodiment, two circular saw blades are arranged such that a masonry block, such as stone, may be sawed completely through in a single pass through the thin veneer stone saw. The stone may be delivered to, and processed through, the circular saw blades by a conveyor system. One of the circular saw blades may be centered below the top surface of the conveyor and protrude through a gap between two sections of the conveyor system. The other circular saw blade may be positioned entirely above the top surface of the conveyor system. The thin veneer stone saw may be operable to produce thin veneer stones in a variety of widths. The thin veneer stones may be used to form facade for a structure.

  • Patent number: 7946206
Abstract: A thin veneer stone saw and related methods are provided. The thin veneer stone saw includes one or more circular saw blades. A quick release mechanism is disclosed to facilitate changing of saw blades. The quick release mechanism is operative for interconnecting a driven member to a rotating member. In one implementation, the quick release mechanism includes a bearing surface fixedly interconnected to the rotating member, a shaft fixedly interconnected to the rotating member, and a cam plate. The cam plate is disposed a fixed distance away from the bearing surface. The quick release mechanism further includes an adjustable plate that may be disposed between the bearing surface and the cam plate. A distance from the adjustable plate to the cam plate can be adjustable. The quick release mechanism further includes a clamp base that is selectably fixable to the shaft and a cam arm pivotably interconnected to the clamp base.

  • Publication number: 20070056981
Abstract: A medicament tablet dispensing system and method dispenses any selected number of tablets, up to a maximum number, with minimal dispensing delays. During fill operations, a preset number of tablets are counted and stored in dedicated storage compartments. Dispensing operations are performed in response to dispense request commands. The fill operations are performed in a manner independent from the quantity of tablets identified by the dispense request commands. During the dispensing operations for a particular dispense request command, the preset number of tablets are emptied from one or more of the dedicated storage compartments, thereby avoiding delays associated with counting all of the dispensed tablets. Moreover, the fill operations and the dispensing operations may be performed in parallel for high-throughput dispensing applications.

  • Publication number: 20060253346
Abstract: An improved apparatus and corresponding method are provided for verification of drugs to be dispensed by a pharmacy. A data processing platform and a bar code scanner perform first and second scanning operations. In the first scanning operation, a first bar code symbol (which is part of a prescription label for a given prescription) is scanned and the results are processed to recover the first code number encoded therein (which is assigned to the particular drug product of the given prescription). In the second scanning operation, a second bar code label (which is affixed to a selected container from the inventory of drug products maintained by the pharmacy) is scanned and the results are processed to recover the second code number encoded therein (which is assigned to the particular drug product held in the selected container). If the first and second code numbers match, the bar code verification is successful.
