    Abstract: Methods and systems of accurately dispensing a viscous fluid onto a substrate. In an embodiment, a method includes using an electronic flow meter device to produce electrical flow meter output signals and performing a responsive control function in a closed loop manner by adjusting at least one dispensing parameter to correct for a difference between an output data set and a reference data set. In another embodiment, a system includes a control operatively coupled to a gas flow meter device and to a weigh scale allowing for a density of an amount of viscous material to be determined. In another embodiment, a method includes using a control coupled to both a gas flow meter device and a weigh scale and performing a responsive control function in a closed loop manner by adjusting at least one dispensing parameter using gas flow meter output signals and weigh scale output signals.

    Abstract: Random number generation apparatus (2) is described that comprises a threshold detector (4) and an electrical noise generator (6). The electrical noise generator (6) has at least two channels (8a-8d) and each channel is arranged to generate an electrical noise signal. The threshold detector (4), which may comprise a digital input-output (DIO) card, is arranged to periodically compare this electrical noise signal with a threshold and to provide a binary data output that indicates whether the threshold has been exceeded. Each channel of the electrical noise generator comprises at least two amplifiers (10a-10c) electrically connected in series that preferably provide a gain of 50,000 or more. Use of the random number generation apparatus (2) for quantum cryptography applications is also described.

    Abstract: Electronic circuit card mounting assemblies and methods are disclosed. An electronic circuit card and an electronic equipment system include mating connectors to operatively couple the circuit card to the equipment system. The circuit card and the equipment system also include respective mating elements of a mounting assembly that engage each other to releasably mount the electronic circuit card to the electronic equipment system. The connectors and the elements of the mounting assembly are positioned to releasably hold the connectors in an operative position when the circuit card is mounted to the equipment system. Related methods of manufacturing electronic circuit cards and equipment systems are also provided. In one embodiment, the mounting assembly elements include a key and a socket to receive the key, and the key and the socket control one or more of a circuit card insertion force, a circuit card retention force, and a circuit removal force.
