  • Patent number: 9984265
Abstract: A system for identifying and tracking components, including but not limited to cords, cables and connectors, that are associated with an electronic device or apparatus or that are part of a “set.” Devices include TVs, DVD players, VCRs, DVRs, computers, printers, camera, and the like. A plurality of self-adhesive stickers marked with a scannable code, each with a unique code in that set, are affixed to a device and its accessories. The codes are scanned by a mobile computing device for entry into the system. Subsequent identification of a particular accessory can be performed by using the system to scan the coded sticker on that accessory.

  • Publication number: 20180131644
Abstract: In a structured communication system, a message is received at a server from a communication application of a first client device. Based on content of the message, an unstructured portion of the message and a predefined set of allowable responses to the message are identified. The message is then outputted to a second client device. A response is received to the message from the second client device. The server determines whether response to the message complies with the predefined set of allowable responses to the message. Responsive to the response not complying, an invalid response message is sent to the second client device indicating that the response is not compliant. Responsive to the response complying, the response is sent to the first client device.

  • Publication number: 20180128637
Abstract: A request for geographic content is received from a client device. The request includes (i) an indication that a user invoked the digital mapping service in a vehicle and (ii) an identifier of the user. In response to the request, profile data for the user including indications of previous interactions of the user with a digital mapping service is automatically retrieved. Geographic content is generated based on the indications of previous interactions in view of relevance of the previous interactions to an automotive context. The geographic content is provided to the client device for presentation in the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20180080434
Abstract: The present subject matter is directed to a system and method for detecting lifting of a ground brush of a generator of an electrical power system connected to a power grid so as to prevent damage to the electrical power system (e.g. bearing failure). The method includes monitoring, via at least one sensor, a voltage signal of a rotor shaft of the generator. The method also includes determining at least one characteristic (e.g. amplitude and/or frequency) of the voltage signal for a predetermined time period. Further, the method includes determining whether the at least one characteristic of the voltage signal is above a predetermined threshold, wherein the at least one characteristic of the voltage signal being above the predetermined threshold is indicative of the ground brush being lifted.

  • Publication number: 20170294933
Abstract: An electronic device mounting assembly includes a case that may contain an electronic device. A receiver is coupled to the case. A first electrical circuit is coupled to the case. The first electrical circuit may be in electrical communication with the electronic device. A set of couplers is provided. Each of the couplers may be selectively coupled to a vehicle. A selected one of the couplers engages the receiver to removably coupled the selected coupler to the case. Thus, the selected coupler couples the electronic device to the vehicle. Each of the couplers has a second electrical circuit coupled thereto. The second electrical circuit is in electrical communication with the first electrical circuit when the selected coupler is coupled to the receiver. The second electrical circuit may be placed in electrical communication with an extrinsic electronic device thereby facilitating the electronic device to communicate with the extrinsic electronic device.
