  • Patent number: 11913306
Abstract: A ball valve cage insert that includes: (1) a first section including an inlet ring having a radial wall thickness varies along the longitudinal axis of the cage; (2) a second section including side ribs that define a plurality of side openings, where the width of each opening varies from a first width at a first radial distance from the longitudinal axis to a second width at a second radial distance and (3) a third section including closure ribs extending from a first point at a first radial distance from the longitudinal axis to a second point where, as measured at a given radial distance from the longitudinal axis, the width of each closure rib varies from a first circumferential width at a first point on the longitudinal axis to a second width at a second point on the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 10933829
Abstract: A knee bolster system for absorbing an impact energy of an occupant's knee is provided with a multi-level force load limiter. The multi-level force load limiter includes three force load limiters. A first force load limiter includes a contact plate for receiving an impact force by the occupant's knee during a vehicle collision. A second force load limiter includes a torsional deflection rod for deforming torsionally by allowing relative rotation, and a third force load limiter includes a locking gear and a female locking base for locking further rotation of a rotational arm after rotation of the torsional deflection rod in the second force load limiter by a predetermined angle based on rotation of the rotational arm. Accordingly, the multi-level force load limiter can create a higher torsion force on the rotational arm of the knee bolster system.

  • Publication number: 20170174171
Abstract: An apparatus includes: a deployable support surface installed in a front, driver-side section of a vehicle and configured to project outwardly from the front, driver-side section of the vehicle upon deployment in response to a collision being sensed at the vehicle. When the support surface is deployed, the deployed support surface is positioned substantially behind a deployed primary driver-side airbag and substantially outside of a region of a steering wheel, from a perspective of a driver, and positioned to support an upper body portion of the driver when a collision causing forward and lateral motion of the driver occurs.

  • Patent number: 8989759
Abstract: A system and method for automatic proximity based call termination determines when a mobile telephony device enters a predetermined area. When that occurs, call termination instructions are automatically issued to re-direct incoming telephone calls directed to the mobile telephony device to an alternate telephone number. In some instances, incoming telephone calls directed to the mobile telephony device may be simultaneously sent to both the mobile telephony device, and to an alternate telephone number. When the mobile telephony device leaves the predetermined area, the call termination instructions are automatically canceled, and calls directed to the mobile telephony device are only sent to the mobile telephony device.
