Abstract: A hardware-accelerated method for the rasterization of non-simple polygons is used to generate a trim-texture that is dynamically adapted to the required resolution. This method is combined with a GPU-based tessellation of parametric surfaces and a method to generate non-simple polygons with the required resolution from the parametric trimming curves on the GPU. This way trimming and tessellation of parametric surfaces like rational Bézier and Spline surfaces can be performed on the GPU. The method can also be used for the visualization of 2D boundary data on arbitrary parametric surfaces.
