  • Publication number: 20190299229
Abstract: An automatic HVLP paint spray gun utilizes turbine air atomizing the paint as it is discharged from a central nozzle, as well as for fanning the paint. The turbine air for fanning or the fanning turbine is directed at the paint after it issues through a paint discharge port disposed centrally of the gun. The utilization of turbine air for both atomizing and fanning provides a paint spray gun which operates between ΒΌ psi up to about 10 psi.

  • Patent number: 10213807
Abstract: A drying system for drying a coating applied to an article of manufacture. The drying system includes an enclosable booth having an interior for housing the article of manufacture. The system also includes an air source for blowing air into the booth, means for raising the temperature of the air before entry into the booth, means for lowering the temperature of the air before entry into the booth, means for raising the humidity of the air before entry into the booth, and means for lowering the humidity of the air before entry into the booth. In one embodiment there is included at least one distribution cone which includes a conical member having a plurality of openings formed along the axis thereof. The cones emit air across an article of manufacture within the booth. During the drying process, both the temperature and the humidity within the booth is raised to accelerate drying.

  • Patent number: 8510968
Abstract: A paint drying booth includes a plurality of walls, a ceiling, and an access door for egress and ingress. A turbine generates heated compressed air which is delivered to the interior of the booth via a duct system. The duct is in fluid communication with an air knife having a slit which delivers a stream or sheet of air into the interior of the booth. More than one air knife can be provided, and the orientation of the plurality of air knives are coordinated to provide a flow of heated turbulent air within the booth to accelerate the drying of painted items within the booth. The turbine comprises a multi-stage compressor including a plurality of rotors and stators for compressing air passing therethrough. Optionally a pneumatic spray gun can be provided for painting the items within the booth as well.

  • Publication number: 20120260521
Abstract: A paint drying booth includes a stationary structure of sidewalls, and a pair of opposed end walls including an access door for egress and ingress. A turbo-compressor is disposed exteriorly of the booth and delivers through a duct heated turbine air thereinto. The duct is in fluid communication with a nozzle which, in turn, is in fluid communication with an air knife having a slit which delivers turbulent air into the interior of the booth. A pair of diametrically opposed panels are disposed at the junction of the corners of the booth upon which air from the air knife impinges thereon to create a vortex within the booth. Optimally, a five bladed turbo-compressor is used. A seven bladed turbo-compressor may be used and which also delivers heated air to a spray gun disposed within the booth by a diverter.
