Abstract: A tibiofermoral alignment guide suitable for use during total knee replacement surgery, provides a means of measuring the angle subtended at the knee joint by the tibial axis relative to the femoral axis. The device can be repeatedly inserted into the medullary canal of the femur and removed therefrom during surgery. The device comprises a rigid rod being formed as an integral unit having tibial, intermediate and femoral segments, wherein the tibial and femoral segments are roughly parallel forming an approximately z-shaped guide.
