Patent number: 11945196Abstract: A polymeric film, sheet, or extrusion coating is formed as a multilayered structure having at least one A layer and at least one B layer. The polymeric film, sheet, or extrusion coating is able to include at least 30% recycled content resin while also exhibiting improved stiffness and strength relative to films with purely virgin polymers. One embodiment of the present invention further presents improved oxygen barrier properties relative to existing films, sheets, or extrusion coatings. Due to the strong structural properties, the polymeric film, sheet, or extrusion coating allows for the inclusion of recycled content into applications where recycled content has previously not been able to be included, such as flexible food, pharmaceutical, or cosmetics packaging.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2022Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: PEAK NANO FILMS, LLCInventors: Michael Ponting, Wendy Hoenig, Stephen Mark Hoenig

Patent number: 10780758Abstract: A device for damping vibrations may comprise a hollow damper tube, a piston rod with a piston fastened thereto, at least one spring plate, and at least one securing element. The piston may be disposed within the damper tube, and the spring plate may be disposed outside the damper tube. To achieve a reliable connection between the spring plate and the damper tube in a cost-effective manner, the spring plate may be connected to the damper tube in both a force-fitting manner and a form-fitting manner. The present disclosure further concerns motor vehicles that employ such devices, as well as methods for fastening spring plates to damper tubes.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2015Date of Patent: September 22, 2020Assignees: THYSSENKRUPP BILSTEIN GMBH, THYSSENKRUPP AGInventors: Thilo Reimann, Michael Hönig

Patent number: 6986414Abstract: A hydraulic dashpot with a cylinder (1), a piston (4), and a bypass. The cylinder is charged with fluid. The piston partitions the cylinder into two compartments (7 & 8), travels back and forth therein on the end of a piston rod (2), and is provided with breaches and valves. The open cross-section of the bypass can be expanded and contracted and fixed in accordance with the direction the piston is traveling in, depending on whether the dashpot is in the compression or in the suction phase. The bypass is provided with an axially displaceable control component. One end of the control component comes to rest against a valve, its displacement being limited by stops. The bypass is accommodated in an axial bore through the piston rod. The bypass operates in conjunction with various outlets that open into the compartments. The control component is provided with at least one lateral flange and travels back and forth in at least one tube. The object is a smooth performance curve and low wear.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2004Date of Patent: January 17, 2006Assignee: ThyssenKrupp Bilstein GmbHInventors: Michael Hönig, Günter Poetsch, Hendrik Kloss, Stefan Mages

Patent number: 6959906Abstract: A blow-off valve for a hydraulic dashpot comprising a fluid charged cylinder (1) and a piston (3) that travels back and forth therein on the end of a piston rod. The piston partitions the cylinder into two compartments (6 & 7) and is provided with breaches (4) and shock-absorbing valves. The piston rod (2) or an extension (8) thereof is hollow and accommodates operating components (13). The object is a valve that can be accommodated along with the hydraulic lines that serve it outside the piston rod or an extension thereof. The outer surface of the piston rod is accordingly provided with at least one axial inwardly undulating groove (14) at least as long as the piston, including its fastenings and operating components, is high. Alternatively, the bore that extends through the piston rod or its extension and its fastenings and operating components is provided with a similar radially outward groove that can be closed off at the compression end by a spring-loaded valve.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2004Date of Patent: November 1, 2005Assignee: ThyssenKrupp Bilstein GmbHInventors: Michael Hönig, Günter Poetsch, Hendrik Kloss, Stefan Mages

Patent number: 6789652Abstract: A resilient leg as part of an attachment for the wheel of a motor vehicle. The leg is provided with a piston rod (4) that has a piston (5) attached to it, that travels into and out of a housing (1), that is attached at its outer end to the vehicle's chassis, and that is maintained in radial alignment by two separated bearings. The piston divides the interior of the housing into two fluid-charged chambers (9 & 10). The object is to ensure satisfactory transmission of moments of force from the piston rod to the housing in a leg that is light in weight. The piston rod accordingly extends through, and is maintained in radial alignment at, both ends of the leg.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2003Date of Patent: September 14, 2004Assignee: ThyssenKrupp Bilstein GmbHInventors: Michael Hönig, Walter Wirtz, Marcello Di Fina, Klaus Hofmann, Günter Poetsch

Patent number: 6662914Abstract: A hydraulic dashpot with a cylinder (1) full of shock-absorbing fluid, with a piston (3) mounted on the end of piston rod (2), traveling back and forth inside the cylinder, separating the cylinder into two compartments (4 & 5), and provided with ports and shock-absorption valves, and with a variable bypass system accommodated in an axial bore (13) in the piston rod provided with lateral radial openings (11 & 26) extending through the rod. The object is to allow fixed independent establishment of the cross-section of the bypass system available for the fluid to flow through as the piston rod travels in the direction associated with the suction phase and of the cross-section of the bypass system available for the fluid to flow through as the piston rod travels in the direction associated with the compression phase.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2002Date of Patent: December 16, 2003Assignee: Krupp Bilstein GmbHInventors: Michael Hönig, Walter Wirtz, Marcello Di Fina

Patent number: 4755199Abstract: A linear drive unit is proposed of a device (10) for cleaning of filtered fluids in particular, whereby the compressed air required for cleaning is emitted via a nozzle bar (21, 23). The nozzle bar (21, 23) extends from a cylinder (18) suppliable with compressed air and being movable along a piston rod passing (16) through the faces of the cylinder, said piston rod being enclosed by a partition wall (26) arranged stationary and dividing the cylinder interior into two chambers (28, 30). To supply the chambers (28, 30) with compressed air, the piston rod (16) is designed hollow in sections for the fluid to flow through, with each chamber being associated with a hollow section (32, 34) of the piston rod and having connections (42, 44) leading to it.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1987Date of Patent: July 5, 1988Inventors: Hans W. Patent number: 4589172Abstract: A central belt lock, particularly for a parachute harness, includes a housing, a main pin or journal which is manually rotatable and axially movable therein, and an anchor plate which cooperates with a plurality of retaining bolts for the belt attachment or coupling members. There is dealt with the problem of allowing the belt attachment members to be released and thus disconnected from the lock even if the parachutist for some reason is unable to actuate the lock manually, after making a jump over the sea. Therefore, a central belt lock is provided to be activated by sea water and can be released thereby, without affecting the function thereof when operated manually. For this purpose, the main journal (2a) has at least one longitudinal bore in which a push rod (12) is mounted so as to be longitudinally movable. An actuator (20, 27) is associated with the push rod and is actuated when coming into contact with water, axially moving the push rod (12) and hence the anchor plate (5) with the retaining bolts (6).Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1983Date of Patent: May 20, 1986Assignee: Autoflug GmbHInventors: Michael Hoenigs, Hermann Reuschenbach
