  • Patent number: 11696355
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein improve a customer experience for non-standalone cellular networks by displaying a secondary cell group (SCG) network icon after data activity ends while a user device likely remains in SCG coverage. When connected to the SCG, the user device detects inactivity on the connection and initiates a first timer, based on the detecting, while continuing to present an SCG-related icon. If the first timer expires while the user device is in an idle state, the user device initiates a second timer, while continuing to present the SCG-related icon. If the user device detects an active connection before expiration of the second timer, the user device initiates a third timer while continuing to present the SCG-related icon. If the user device fails to detect a connection to the SCG before expiration of the third timer, a master cell group (MCG)-related icon is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20210121396
Abstract: A personal lubricant disk is described. The personal lubricant disk typically comprises a composition that is solid at ambient room temperature and melts into a liquid when placed and moved around the bodily surface of a human person. Variations of the personal lubricant disk composition can also include ingredients the stimulate different sensory reactions when the personal lubricant disk is placed and moved around the bodily surface, such as a warming or cooling sensation, as well as various pleasant tastes or scents.

  • Patent number: 10030733
Abstract: A honeycomb structure having high levels of recoverable energy absorption is provided. The honeycomb structure achieves high levels of recoverable energy absorption by incorporating cells that exhibit negative stiffness. In one embodiment, the cells exhibit negative stiffness via curved beam members configured to snap through to a second position upon experiencing a sufficient force. The cells may also be configured to snap back to their original position when the force is removed. Therefore, the honeycomb structure may be capable of repeatedly achieving a high level of recoverable energy absorption.

  • Publication number: 20130321446
Abstract: A visualization system generates a visualization for a data set comprising multiple data points. The visualization system accesses the data set and determines a representative data characteristic of the data set. The visualization system also determines, for each of the multiple data points in the data set, a difference between a data point value of a respective data point and the representative data characteristic. Using the determined differences, the visualization system determines a plotting order of the multiple data points. To generate the visualization, the visualization system plots the representative data characteristic in an initial cell and plots the multiple data points in the data set in respective cells such that the respective cells spiral outward from the initial cell in the determined plotting order.

  • Patent number: 7000437
Abstract: An economically viable process and system for centrally processing multiple loads of laundry with minimum environmental impact. A system and method of laundering whereby successive loads of laundry may be washed while continuously providing effective soil removal comprising at least partially recycled wash water from at least one previous wash cycle. The system and the method of using the same comprises filtering wash water with at least one filter to form wash retentate and wash permeate. The use of wash permeate in successive washes provides for reuse of chemicals and water recovery. A similar arrangement may be used with regard to the rinse water. Advantageously, one embodiment of the invention provides for the use of rinse retentate as make up water in the wash loop which increases water recovery and chemical recovery. Ultimately, the invention can reduce the production of gray water and recover chemicals used in the laundering process.

  • Patent number: 6240292
Abstract: A mobile assisted handoff of a mobile station transitioning from a CDMA portion of a cellular telecommunication network to an analog portion of the network is provided as a function of a CDMA pilot signal transmitter located at each analog cell in the analog portion of the network. The mobile station monitors a CDMA pilot signal transmitted from each CDMA cell and each analog cell of the cellular telecommunication network, measures the signal strength of each received CDMA pilot signal and transmits the signal strength to the MTSO. The MTSO determines whether the pilot signal is associated with a CDMA base station or an analog base station.

  • Patent number: 6063737
Abstract: An aqueous displacement fluid composition is used as a spacer fluid composition to change one type of drilling mud for another type of drilling mud or in cementing operations downhole, to clean downhole hardware in wellbores. The method comprises introducing into a wellbore an aqueous displacement fluid composition, such as a spacer fluid, to displace downhole wellbore fluids, having an improved rate of emulsification and a high capacity for emulsifying hydrocarbons, and aqueous fluid compositions. The aqueous displacement fluid composition introduced into wellbores contain mixtures of:a) water;b) a polyoxyalkylene monool surfactant represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrocarbyl group, R.sub.2 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group, and the weight average of w+x is at least about 5; andc) a polyoxyalkylene monool surfactant represented by the formula: ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrocarbyl group, R.sub.2 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.

  • Patent number: 5761618
Abstract: A cellular telephone system is upgraded by modifying subscriber units for selective service provider acquisition during roaming. Priority of acquisition is given to those service providers associated with the home service provider. These preferred service providers are identified by System Identification (SIDs) numbers. A roaming subscriber unit will tune to control frequencies to identify all of the system providers operating in a physical area to which the subscriber has roamed. The SIDs of those system providers available are compared to a preferred SID list contained within the subscriber unit. Selection is made based upon a priority of those system providers having arrangements with the home system provider. The SID lists in the subscriber units are modified based upon a version number for each update on the SID list.
