  • Patent number: 9555461
Abstract: A method for connecting two components. The method includes heating a deformation region of at least one component part to provide complete heating. The at least one component part is plastically deformed after the complete heating of the deformation region.

  • Patent number: 9539673
Abstract: A method is provided in which two parts (2, 3) are connected to each other by a weld. The two parts (2, 3) are fixed by a magnet (4) during welding. A magnetic field of the magnet (4) influences the flow of a melt in the weld (6).
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 8485606
Abstract: A seat structure includes a frame having a plurality of parts having respective joining surfaces. Two respective joining surfaces, which belong to two respective different parts, are joined to one another by laser-welding. A method of forming a seat frame having a plurality of parts includes the steps of positioning the parts in a fixture, fixing the position of the parts relative to one another and laser-welding the parts to form the seat frame.

  • Patent number: 8187721
Abstract: A structure includes a first part provided in a first plane and second and third parts provided in a second plane located under the first plane. The second and third parts are welded together at a welded seam. The first part has at least one recess configured to receive a welding mechanism that forms the welded seam on the second and third parts. Another structure includes an “n” number of layers, n being at least three. Adjacent layers are in contact with one another and are connected by a welded seam. The structure also includes an outer surface. The layers between the outer surface and the respective welded seam define a recess through which a welding mechanism is configured to be passed as far as the respective layers to be welded to produce the welded seam.

  • Publication number: 20100147809
Abstract: A method of joining at least one first metal sheet and a second metal sheet by laser welding includes at least partially stacking the at least one first metal sheet and the second metal sheet on top of one another to form an overlap region and welding together the at least one first metal sheet and the second metal sheet in the overlap region along an oscillating line. Welding along an oscillating line creates a longer weld seam in comparison to welding along a straight line, thereby increasing the strength of the weld seam.

  • Publication number: 20050276457
Abstract: A method of measuring oestrogen or progesterone receptor (ER or PR) comprises identifying in histopathological specimen image data pixel groups indicating cell nuclei, and deriving image hue and saturation. The image is thresholded using hue and saturation and preferentially stained cells identified. ER or PR status is determined from normalised average saturation and proportion of preferentially stained cells. A method of measuring C-erb-2 comprises correlating window functions with pixel sub-groups to identify cell boundaries, computing measures of cell boundary brightness and sharpness and brightness extent around cell boundaries, and comparing the measures with comparison images associated with different values of C-erb-2. A C-erb-2 value associated with a comparison image having similar brightness-related measures is assigned. A method of measuring vascularity comprises deriving image hue and saturation, producing a segmented image by hue and saturation thresholding and identifying contiguous pixels.
