  • Patent number: 6731043
Abstract: A spin-roll formed one-piece field core shell formed from a blank disc of sheet metal. The one-piece field core has an outer annular ring integral to and encircling a center axis of the disc and extending from a bottom external surface in a direction that is perpendicular to the bottom surface of the disc and parallel to the center axis of the disc. The core has an inner annular ring integral to and encircling a center axis of the disc, the inner annular axis is spaced radially inward from the outer annular ring and extends from the bottom external surface in a direction that is perpendicular to the bottom surface of the disc and parallel to the center axis of the disc. The one-piece field core also contains a mounting flange that encircles a center axis of the disc and extends in a perpendicular direction to a top external surface of the disc and parallel to the center axis of the disc.
