  • Patent number: 12534965
Abstract: A downhole tool includes an outer, intermediate and inner tubular bodies. The intermediate tubular body has vanes and female splines. The inner tubular body in the intermediate tubular body includes a load nut and male splines that rotationally couple with the female splines to allow relative axial movement between the inner tubular body and the intermediate tubular body. The male and female splines can rotate inside the outer tubular body for an angle determined by movement of the vanes between longitudinal ribs in the outer tubular body. The inner tubular body has an extended position. When weight is applied on the drill bit (WOB), the inner tubular body has a retracted position where it is pushed inward to compress springs. This causes the inner tubular body and the intermediate tubular body to rotate for a selected angle relative to the outer tubular body.

  • Patent number: 12534966
Abstract: A downhole tool has a main body that is cylindrical and includes a top coupling that couples to a drill string. A second body that is cylindrical is positioned at least partially within the main body. The second body has a bottom coupling that couples to a drill bit. Springs are positioned within the downhole tool and transmit an axial force to the drill bit. A first set of grooves is formed on an interior of the main body, and a second set of grooves is formed on an exterior of the second body. Balls travel within the first and second sets of grooves. At least some of the balls simultaneously engage the main body and the second body.

  • Publication number: 20260025356
Abstract: Embodiments provide systems and methods for identifying domain name service (DNS) resolvers. A computer-implemented method includes detecting a request from a client device to a destination. The method further includes sending a DNS request from the client device to the destination, receiving, at the client device, a DNS response from the destination, identifying the destination as a DNS resolver based on receiving the DNS response, and based on identifying the destination as a DNS resolver, blocking, at the client device, connections to the destination.

  • Publication number: 20240125185
Abstract: A device for use downhole in a drill string includes a body that is cylindrical. The body has a longitudinal axis and top and bottom threads that can couple the body to other elements of the drill string. A radial shock absorber is coupled to an exterior of the body. The radial shock absorber has a piston with a piston axis. A portion of the piston extends to an exterior of the body. The piston can move along the piston axis between a retracted position and an extended position. In addition, a spring is located between the body and the piston. The spring can bias the piston, along the piston axis, radially outward relative to the longitudinal axis of the body.

  • Patent number: 11713665
Abstract: Methods, systems, and storage media are presented for operating a drill string within a well. Exemplary implementations may: detect, using one or more sensors, data representing an analog control command sequence; analyze the analog control command sequence; determine that the control command sequence represents a command to change an operational mode of the drill string from a first operational mode to a second operational mode; and transmit a signal to an actuator of the drill string, the signal representing an electronic command to activate the actuator in such a way as to change the drill string from the first operational mode to the second operational mode. In some embodiments, the analog control sequence may comprise a predetermined sequence of rotational inputs, vibrational inputs, pressure inputs, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 11086902
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatuses to provide a redo repeater that allows for no data loss protection without the performance impact to the primary database even when a significant geographical distance separates the primary and standby databases. The Repeater is a lightweight entity that receives redo from the primary database with the purpose of redistributing that redo throughout the primary/standby system configuration. The Repeater able to extend no data loss protection and switchover functionality to terminal standby databases even though the primary database does not need to have a direct connection with those destinations.

  • Publication number: 20190309421
Abstract: A process of forming a mixed metal oxide solid is provided. The process includes the steps of obtaining a precursor composition comprising at least two metal or metalloid-containing compounds, the metal or metalloid of the at least two compounds being different, one from the other; and allowing the at least two metal or metalloid-containing compounds of the precursor composition to at least partially react by hydrolysis and/or condensation. The at least two metal or metalloid-containing compounds may have different points of zero charge (PZC). Further material or articles comprising a substrate or material coated with or otherwise in physical connection to the mixed metal oxide solid formed according to the process are also provided.
