  • Patent number: 9898232
Abstract: In a method to administer, via a print job administrator, print jobs to be printed at a printing system, a plurality of print jobs are determined. A print job can indicate a specification of one or more print features. Different specifications of a print feature may require different configurations of the printing system. Change-over expenditures for the printing of at least two print jobs of the plurality of print jobs by the printing system can be determined based on the specification of the one or more print features of the plurality of print jobs. An order for the printing of the plurality of print jobs can be determined based on the change-over expenditures. The order of the plurality of print jobs can be indicated.

  • Patent number: 9487029
Abstract: In a method or system to control a temperature of a substrate to be printed to and which exhibits said temperature during a traversal of a printing system, specifically selecting or controlling a fluid temperature of a liquid fluid to be applied onto the substrate to specifically influence the substrate temperature, the fluid being applied onto the substrate before the substrate is printed to. At least one of the fluid temperature and a quantity of the fluid applied onto the substrate per time unit at least depending on at least one of a first measurement value for a temperature of the substrate before the application of the fluid and a second measurement value for a surface temperature of the substrate after the application of the fluid.

  • Patent number: 8634731
Abstract: In a method or system for automatic controlling of jobs to be processed, the jobs to be associated with input and output material bundles, the jobs to be processed are collected into multiple groups or clusters. The groups or clusters are automatically sorted according to rules. The input material bundles are fed to a processing device at a central station, at least one post-processing apparatus being connected to and down stream from the processing device.

  • Patent number: 8488189
Abstract: In a method or system to generate a template, the template is defined by content and layout information. Job chaperone data are associated with the template to control subsequent document processing processes.

  • Publication number: 20110225201
Abstract: In a method for data transfer, an identifier for identifying an image generation device is associated with the image generation device. An authorization information is associated with the image generation device. The authorization information associated with the identifier is stored in a data bank. The transfer of data from a data source by at least one of the image generation device and a data processing system connected with the image generation device is requested. Before the transfer of the data, the authorization information associated with the image generation device is determined and read out with aid of the identifier of the image generation device. The data from the data source is only transferred to the image generation device or to the data processing unit when the transfer of the data is permitted via the read-out authorization information. Also, a method is provided in which a device with a printing function and at least one right to procure a further product is distributed in a bundle.

  • Patent number: 7991789
Abstract: In a method or system for generation of a document, at least personal data and a characteristic value are stored in at least one data bank, at least the characteristic value being associated with the personal data. Document data are selected dependent on the stored characteristic value, at least a portion of the document being generated with aid of the selected document data. Information about a point in time is associated with at least a portion of the document data. A time span is preset so that the document data are only selected to generate the document when the time span comprises the point in time associated with the document data.

  • Publication number: 20100201997
Abstract: In a method or system for automatic preparation of print data for a printing process, the print data is imported and subdivided into segments. The segments are analyzed with an image analysis method for automatically determining presentation parameters for the respective segments such that an image content of the respective segments is analyzed for at least one of color depth, contrast, sharpness, brightness, color space, detail richness, or resolution. The print data together with the automatically determined presentation parameters are provided to control the printing process.

  • Publication number: 20100165377
Abstract: In a method or system to archive print images, at least one print image generated with aid of a printing or copying system is recorded with aid of a recording unit. Image data corresponding to the recorded print image are generated. The image data are archived in an archive. At least one part of print data used to generate the print image is stored together with the image data in the archive.
