  • Publication number: 20100078358
Abstract: A process is disclosed for decreasing the level of elemental mercury contained in a liquid hydrocarbon stream by a) contacting the liquid hydrocarbon stream with a water stream containing an oxidizing agent for conversion of at least a portion of the Hg(0) to Hg(II); b) extracting at least a portion of the Hg(II) from the liquid hydrocarbon stream into the water stream, thereby forming a treated liquid hydrocarbon stream and a waste water stream containing water and Hg(II); and c) separating the treated liquid hydrocarbon stream from the waste water stream.

  • Publication number: 20090222415
Abstract: Method and system of evaluating overall risk of mismanagement of information contained in a file and its copies on a storage system. The method collects information about storage availability, accessibility, preservation and searchability of the data in each file. The method quantifies the collected information and allows a user to define risk criteria and assign risk values for each aspect of the collected information. The file risk of mismanagement of a specified data file is evaluated and compared against a threshold to determine whether or not the file is well-managed. If the file has copies, the file risk of mismanagement of each of the copies is also evaluated to obtain the risk of mismanagement of information in all of the copies. Copies with high risks of mismanagement may be discarded to lower the risk of mismanagement of the information. An administrator of a storage system may perform the method.

  • Publication number: 20070197534
Abstract: The present invention provides a simplified set of characteristics that can be used to select 1,2,4 benzotriazine 1,4 dioxide compounds (TPZ analogues) with therapeutic activity against hypoxic cells in human tumour xenografts, and to further provide a novel class of 1,2,4-benzotriazine-1,4-dioxides (TPZ analogues) with predicted in vivo activity against tumours, to their preparation, and to their use as hypoxia-selective cytotoxic drugs and radiosensitizers for cancer therapy, both alone or in combination with radiation and/or other anticancer drugs.

  • Publication number: 20070179337
Abstract: Penile illuminating and extending equipment includes a plurality of light emitting diodes and a penile stretching device. The diodes are positioned on a mounting structure in a manner to illuminate a penis with light emitted from the diodes along the penis' length and circumference.

  • Publication number: 20060294116
Abstract: Search systems that perform a search or inquiry to find information elements that satisfy some searching criteria usually return some indication of these information elements in a form that can be viewed or accessed only within the search system itself. An improved system presents the information elements as files in a conventional file system so that the search results can be viewed or accessed by essentially any program or other facility that is capable of accessing conventional files.

  • Publication number: 20060066190
Abstract: The apparatus and methods reduce the force needed to open and close a drawer, as well as reduce noise generated by friction slide mechanisms when the drawer is opened and closed. A drawer slide mechanism includes a first elongated track, an elongated rail, and a low friction material. The rail is telescopically received by the track, by which a path of motion is defined for the rail. The rail remains at least partially received by the track along the entire path of motion of the rail. In addition, the low friction material is disposed between the track and the rail such that the low friction material remains at least partially disposed between the track and the rail throughout the entire path of motion.

  • Publication number: 20040146597
Abstract: The present invention is directed to molds for making packaging inserts having a pre-selected shape and a method of making the same. The shape of the mold is determined by first pre-selecting the shape of the packing insert. The shape of the packaging insert is dependent on the type of product that will be shipped. Once the shape of the packing insert is determined, the mold is then made by fabricating multiple parts, each part having a pre-selected shape. The shape of each part of the mold is determined such that when the mold is assembled, the mold forms a contiguous inner cavity having the shape (the inner cavity is the negative) of the pre-selected packaging insert. After the mold is assembled, beaded foam material is injected into the mold to form the packaging insert.

  • Patent number: 5881908
Abstract: An insulated container (12) for carrying goods such as fish is provided. The insulated container (12) includes a cover (14) and an open-topped box (16). The box (16) includes a bottom (26), two end walls (22, 24), and two bowed side walls (18, 20). Fillets lie in the corners where the bowed side walls and bottom meet. Longitudinal drainage ribs (40) extend along the bottom (26) between transverse platforms (42, 44). Indentations (28, 30, 32, 34) formed on the outer surface of the bowed container (12) define regions for receiving straps. The indentations are aligned with transverse platforms (42, 44), which provide reinforcement. The top of the end walls and the side walls include lips that mate with a depression located about the periphery of the cover (14). Bottom depressions (56, 58) ease the lifting of the container.
