  • Publication number: 20030108210
Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle (1) having a loudspeaker (9) for emitting sound waves (10, 11) into a passenger compartment (2) and having an air duct (7) for the air conditioning of the passenger compartment (2), the air duct (7) having an air duct opening (6) which faces the passenger compartment (2). In order to reduce the installation space for the loudspeaker (9), the invention proposes that the loudspeaker (9) is arranged in the air duct (7) in such a manner that the sound waves (10, 11) can be emitted through the air duct opening (6) into the passenger compartment (2).
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20030108211
Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle (1) having a sound-radiating element (10) for emitting sound waves into a passenger compartment (2) and having an air duct (6) for the air conditioning of the passenger compartment (2), the air duct (6) having an air duct inner wall (7) facing the passenger compartment (2). In order to reduce the installation space for the sound-radiating element and to simplify the assembly, the invention proposes that the sound-radiating element (10) has the air duct inner wall (7) and an oscillation exciter (9) arranged on the air duct inner wall (7), for exciting oscillation of the air duct inner wall (7).

  • Publication number: 20030018282
Abstract: System for withdrawing small amounts of body fluid comprising a drive unit which has a holder which is moved from a first into a second position when the drive unit is activated, and a disposable lancing unit which has a holding area that is removably positioned in the holder, the proximal end of an elongate capillary structure comprising at least one capillary channel for transporting body fluid being connected to the holding area and the distal end of the capillary structure being suitable for piercing skin, wherein the distal end of the capillary structure is located outside the skin when the holder is arranged in a first position and in the second position is inserted into the skin up to the puncture depth, characterized in that the at least one capillary channel is open to the outside in an area which comprises at least a part of the longitudinal extension of the capillary structure.
    Type: Application

  • Patent number: 6152174
Abstract: A surge pot intended for mounting in a fuel tank has a walling with a circumferential elastic insert. In this way, the surge pot has in a mounting position a small cross section with which it can be passed through a mounting opening in the fuel tank. After the mounting, the elastic insert is pressed outward so that the surge pot can receive a particularly large amount of fuel.

  • Patent number: 5770454
Abstract: A method and apparatus for analytical determination of a concentration of an analyte in a biological sample include a series of hardware elements and method steps which perform at least two detection measurements, with each detection measurement including the step of irradiating light at an irradiation site as primary light into the biological sample through a boundary surface. The light is propagated along a light path, and light is detected as it emerges from the biological sample as secondary light through a detection site. The irradiation site and detection site are separated by a measuring distance. At least two detection measurements are performed with at least two different measurement light paths between the irradiation site and the detection site.

  • Patent number: 5692504
Abstract: Method and apparatus for the analytical determination of glucose concentration in a biological matrix, wherein in a detection step light from a light emitter is irradiated into the biological matrix as primary light via a boundary surface of the biological matrix and light emerging from the the biological matrix through a boundary surface is being detected by a light detector in order to determine a measurable physical light property which is changed by interaction with the biological matrix and which correlates with the glucose concentration of said matrix. The glucose concentration is ascertained in an evaluation step on the basis of said change of the physical light property determined in at least one detection step in comparison with a calibration.

  • Patent number: 5000328
Abstract: A coat hanger includes first and second jaws designed to grasp and hold a coat. The jaws are each pivotally attached to a supporting structure and a small metal rod is pivotally attached between the jaws. Through the use of the metal rod, an increased gripping force is achieved in proportion to an increased weight.
