Patent number: 10226155Abstract: A toilet seat and lid lifting and flushing device for connecting to a toilet. The toilet seat and lid lifting device includes a pedal operatively connected with a pivotal lid lever and a pivotal seat lever. A flush assembly includes a cable operatively connected to the pedal, a flush arm operatively connected to the cable, and a flush base receiving the flush arm. The seat lever is pivoted in a first direction upon application of a downward force to the pedal. The seat lever and the lid lever are pivoted in a second direction upon application of an upward force to the pedal. Application of an upward force to the pedal causes downward movement of the flush arm to initiate a flush cycle.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2014Date of Patent: March 12, 2019Inventor: Michael Helfrich

Patent number: 9795259Abstract: An apparatus for raising and lowering a toilet seat that can easily be installed, for example by hand without tools, on a toilet, for example one that only has a seat and not a lid as commonly found in public venues. The apparatus includes a pedal base, a pedal, a seat bracket, and a lifter lever. The pedal is pivotally connected to the pedal base and coupled to the seat bracket so that movement of the pedal induces movement of the seat bracket and the lifter lever. The lifter lever is positioned under a toilet seat so that as the lifter lever is moved, the toilet seat is raised, and as the seat bracket rotates back down by reverse action on the pedal, the toilet seat is lowered.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2014Date of Patent: October 24, 2017Inventor: Michael Helfrich

Patent number: 9066211Abstract: Decision support information is exchanged over a secure wireless network among mobile computing devices, and also optionally a central command computer. Each of the mobile computing devices has one or more sensors connected and interfaced to it. Output data from the sensor(s) can be sent over the network to one or more other devices on the network. A command for a sensor also can be sent over the network to cause the sensor to take some action such as turning on or turning off. The mobile computing devices on the network automatically share plug-in software components needed by any of the devices to view transmitted sensor output data and/or act on sensor commands.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2014Date of Patent: June 23, 2015Assignee: Blueforce Development CorporationInventor: Michael Helfrich

Patent number: 8562479Abstract: A tandem axle having two drivable axles, each axle including a differential gearing with a drive input gearwheel, drivable by a shaft, as a differential gearing input and with two drive input semi-axles driving the wheels of the axle using axle shaft wheels. The wheels of the first axle are permanently positively coupled to the drive input gearwheel of the axle. An activatable distributor wheel is seated on a drive input shaft of the drive input gearwheel of the first axle. The distributor wheel meshes with a through drive shaft wheel which is arranged in a rotationally rigid fashion on a through drive shaft. The output of the through drive shaft is coupled to the input-side drive input gearwheel of the second axle by means of intermediate members. Switchable clutches are arranged in the second axle between the axle shaft wheels and their adjacent wheels.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2007Date of Patent: October 22, 2013Assignee: Daimler AGInventors: Johann Hamperl, Michael Helfrich, Uwe Mierisch, Ferdinand Mulzer
