  • Patent number: 11261980
Abstract: A flapper check valve employed to prevent flow up the work string while allowing flow down the work string and into the well is disclosed. The check valve is activated by a compression spring, which then acts on a ball which will further act on a cam profile attached to the back of a flapper. The apparatus causes the flapper to default to the closed position when the flow is stopped, regardless of the position of the valve, even when gravity is acting against the flapper. The compression spring also allows for an apparatus which possesses lower operating stresses on the spring.

  • Patent number: 7824722
Abstract: A saddle for a sheeting head includes a pair of semi-circular concave edges configured to seal a pair of rollers. The oppositely facing concave edges each include a tongue that fits in a corresponding groove in the roller and a retracted concave edge adapted to wrap around half the roller surface. The saddle includes a top portion wherein the concave edges downwardly converge, and a bottom portion wherein the concave edges downwardly diverge. A narrow waist is provided at the proximal-most position of the concave edges and adapted to fit in a pinch point between the rollers. A sheeting head assembly incorporating the saddle may include a sidewall to which the saddle need not be fastened. The self-locking characteristics of the saddle enable an assembly to omit sidewalls altogether.

  • Publication number: 20050175728
Abstract: In a dough stripping assembly and method, stripping elements are supported in relatively spaced relation on the sheeting machine with an edge of the crosspieces parallel to and abutting an outer surface of the roller. As the roller turns, the stripping element scrapes shaped dough from the roller and leaves a remaining web of dough adhered to the roller. With many cut patterns, the crosspiece separates a portion of the web from the roller as well. However, the portion of the web that remains adhered to the roller pulls the separated portion of the web along with the adhered portion. Thus, the separated portion of the web is permitted to move past the stripping elements and continues to move with the outer surface of the roller and is returned with-the rest of the web to a point upstream of the sheet forming pinch point.

  • Patent number: 5763861
Abstract: Problems in counting and stacking fried food products such as tostadas are solved by an improved counter/stacker device in which tortilla food products ride a first moving belt through a photoelectric counting station. After being counted the product drops into a stack retainer shaped to hold the product. A series of stack retainers are arranged along the length of a flexible, intermittently moving, continuous belt. When the counting station signals that the required number of product have been counted and deposited into a stack, the flexible belt bearing the stack retainer is rapidly advanced to bring an empty stack retainer into position beneath the counting station. The stack retainers ensure that the product stacks do not shift and are stationary for a period of time, thereby facilitating manual or automatic packaging of the product.
