  • Publication number: 20250320144
Abstract: A method that uses heat to economically recover usable flush water for livestock operation. The method thermally treats a dilute manure (DM) stream and separating the treated DM in a clarifier to produce output streams that pass to anaerobic digestion. This method minimizes the presence of biological activity and glycoprotein-based mucus that retards effective settling and removal of both sand and large sized TSS. Heating the DM thermally processes the input to the clarifier provides a net viscosity that promotes ready separation of both sand and TSS. The invention can be used in a closed loop flush water system or in recovering water usable for other purposes. Such other purposes include irrigation, recovery of clean water from the flush water using a UF membrane separation or aeration. Purification of such clean water can provide water for use in dairy operations.

  • Publication number: 20240360020
Abstract: Methods and equipment of this invention enable small scale animal farming operations to substantially all or nearly all the recoverable value from their manure streams at a cost suitable for such smaller scale operations. The invention gives small scale animal farming operations the opportunity to obtain manure recovery benefits typically obtainable only in animal farming operations having high animal populations. The recovery is in forms that are both useable, readily monetized, environmentally sustainable, and cost effective. Much of the recovered material can find use back within the processing steps of invention thereby increasing the value of the recovered residual materials.

  • Patent number: 8930218
Abstract: The medical data analysis system automatically identifies medical information sources which correlate to anomalies identified in a set of patient medical data relating to an identified patient. The system includes a digital library for providing access to a plurality of information sources which relate to interpreting patient medical data and possible diseases associated with the patient medical data. A data characterization module calculates normative variations of a set of patient medical data to identify anomalies. Based upon this statistical analysis, a digital library interface module searches the digital library for information sources relating to the set of patient medical data and interpretations of the identified anomalies. There is also an information access module which provides an authorized user, such as a physician, with access to the information sources returned by the digital library interface module and relating to this set of patient medical data.

  • Patent number: 8924230
Abstract: The Patient Data Management System operates under the control of a physician to implement a patient-specific instance of the apparatus which is capable of accessing at least one data manipulation module, each defining at least one process for transforming patient medical data pursuant to a predefined schema. A patient medical data processor is responsive to the physician selecting a set of patient medical data, at least one of the data manipulation modules, and an order of applying the selected data manipulation modules to the selected patient medical data for processing the selected patient medical data using the selected data manipulation modules in the selected order to identify data indicative of a predetermined condition in the selected patient medical data. A display is available for presenting a visualization of the data indicative of a predetermined condition in the selected patient medical data.

  • Publication number: 20120116851
Abstract: Electronic processing and management of electronic project data is facilitated. According to an example embodiment of the present invention, project data including incentives data is processed for a plurality of different projects, using authentication to control data communication and access. Incentive-related data fields are automatically updated upon the receipt of project data, and authenticated users are provided access to the data in real-time.

  • Publication number: 20100017225
Abstract: The Customized Medical Diagnostic Apparatus operates under the control of a physician to implement a patient-specific instance of the apparatus by identifying medical information sources, retrieved from a Digital Library, which correlate to anomalies identified in a set of patient medical data relating to an identified patient or identified class of patient. The system includes a Digital Library for providing access to a plurality of information sources which relate to interpreting patient medical data and possible ailments associated with the patient medical data. A data characterization module calculates control variations of a set of patient medical data to identify anomalies. Based upon this statistical analysis, a Digital Library interface module searches the Digital Library for information sources relating to the set of patient medical data and interpretations of the identified anomalies.

  • Publication number: 20080177166
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for measuring a carbohydrate in a fluid are presented. An amperometric glucose sensor system suitable for glucose monitoring in a biological sample other than blood includes a support member having a sample region defined thereon in fluid communication with a measurement zone including an electrode having an exposed surface area. Biological sample fluid is transported from the sample region to the measurement zone, which includes an exposed catalyst in communication with the electrode providing a minimum sensitivity of at least about 50 micromolar glucose concentration and a noise level of less than about 0.5 nA/?M/mm2. In some embodiments, at least one of a nanofiltration material and a porous absorbent material is provided between the sample region and the measurement zone.

  • Publication number: 20040009568
Abstract: The identification, isolation, purification, and characterization of the catalytic domain of the human hepatocyte growth factor receptor kinase (hHGFR) are described. A crystal structure of the hHGFR kinase domain is reported herein. This structure provides a three-dimensional description of the binding site of the hHGFR for structure-based design of small molecule inhibitors thereof as therapeutic agents. The kinase domain of human HGFR and its associated crystal structure is described for use in the discovery, identification and characeterization of modulators of human HGFR.
