Patent number: 11954605Abstract: An intelligent labeling method is disclosed herein. The method can receive a plurality of input instances and access a knowledge graph comprising a plurality of nodes and a plurality of edges connecting the plurality of nodes. The plurality of nodes represent objects and the edges represent relationship between the objects. For at least some selected input instances, the method can identify respective matching objects represented by corresponding nodes of the knowledge graph. A selected input instance shares a common label with the corresponding matching object. For identified matching objects, the method can identify a common class object represented by a corresponding node of the knowledge graph. A percentage of identified matching objects are descendants of the common class object, and the percentage is greater than a predefined threshold. The method can associate a label of the common class object with the plurality of input instances.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2020Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Jan Portisch, Sandra Bracholdt, Michael Hladik, Oliver Huth

Patent number: 11762820Abstract: Techniques and solutions are described for converting data models between formats, such as between a conceptual data model and a physical data model for a database system, or between a conceptual data model and artefacts to be implemented in the database system. The conceptual data model is annotated with annotations that allow the physical data model or database artefacts to be automatically generated from the conceptual data model. The annotations can reflect relationships between entity types in the physical data model, such as inheritance relationships, header/item relationships, or one-to-one cardinality relationships. Annotations can also indicate attributes that should be added to entity types in the conceptual data model, such as attributes for versioning or data governance, that may not be used in the conceptual data model. Annotations can be used to determine how entity types in the conceptual data model will be denormalized in the physical data model.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2022Date of Patent: September 19, 2023Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Jan Portisch, Bjoern Pantel, Benjamin Merkle, Stephan Schub, Sandra Bracholdt, Roland Kolata, Michael Hladik, Christoph Meinel

Publication number: 20150081494Abstract: A method of determining potentially fraudulent records in a database comprises defining a detection strategy. The detection strategy is targeted to detect existing records from the database and comprises multiple inputs. The detection strategy is executed on existing records and results are displayed for review by a user. The detection strategy is then dynamically calibrated as desired based on input received from the user, and any modified results are displayed. A calibrated detection strategy is set, and then it is executed on new records to detect potentially fraudulent records warranting investigation. A computer system having a processor and memory storing instructions for performing such methods is also described. A computer readable storage medium having computer-executable instructions for performing such methods is also described.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2013Publication date: March 19, 2015Applicant: SAP AGInventors: Martin Erdelmeier, Christian Gschloessl, Manfred Preissendoerfer, Michael Hladik, Eric Berettoni, Kay Hammerl, Sebastian Droll

Patent number: 8595095Abstract: In a banking application system including numerous banking applications, a data management framework allows for the generalized storage and subsequent access of result data. Through the application of the framework to the raw processing data generated by one of the banking applications, the result data is stored in a general storage location. Through this framework, the data is then readily accessible by all other banking applications. This framework includes a header field, characteristics data and key figure data. This removes proprietary restrictions on the data itself and thus makes it available to the other applications, increasing cross-system efficiency by allowing other applications to access and subsequently use the result data.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2006Date of Patent: November 26, 2013Assignee: SAP AGInventors: Andreas S Borchardt, Dirk Endesfelder, Ralf M Handl, Michael Hladik, Roland Kolata, Ekkehard Lange, Christoph Meinel, Frank Raebiger

Patent number: 7313127Abstract: A time-division-multiplexed radio communication system and method uses transmitted-reference, delay-hopped (TR/DH) ultra-wideband (UWB) broadcast signal to provide a pilot signal to all mobile devices in a coverage area from which time synchronization is derived. Using this TR/DH UWB pulse pilot signal and low-complexity demodulation in the mobile devices, the mobile devices utilize a simple signal detection algorithm to acquire synchronization with the pilot signal. As a result, all devices in a local area network become synchronized to the system's bit clock. This greatly reduces the search space required for signal acquisition, receiver signal processing complexity, and length of message preambles required to synchronize the base station receiver to a transmission from any of the mobile devices.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2002Date of Patent: December 25, 2007Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Ralph Thomas Hoctor, Stephen Michael Hladik

Patent number: 7127656Abstract: A turbo decoder control comprises an address generator for addressing systematic data, parity data, and systematic likelihood ratios according to a pre-determined memory mapping. The systematic data samples are accessed in the order required by the MAP decoding algorithm such that interleaving and de-interleaving functions in the MAP decoding algorithm are performed in real-time, i.e., without delay. Such memory-mapping in combination with data handling functions (e.g., multiplexing and combinatorial logic) minimizes memory requirements for the turbo decoder and allows for use of programmable interleavers, variable block lengths, and multiple code rates.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2003Date of Patent: October 24, 2006Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Nick Andrew Van Stralen, Stephen Michael Hladik, Abdallah Mahmoud Itani, Robert Gideon Wodnicki, John Anderson Fergus Ross

Patent number: 7099422Abstract: A method and apparatus of initial synchronization, or acquisition, of time modulated ultra-wideband (UWB) communications uses a transmitted-reference preamble. The method and apparatus require that the transmitter first send a time-reference, delay-hopped (TR/DH) burst; such a burst is easily detected and can be processed to provide a time mark accurate to within a few nanoseconds. Following the transmission of the TR/DH burst, the transmitter waits a fixed period of time, the duration of which is known to the receiver, and then the transmitter sends a burst of pulse position modulation, time hopped (PPM/TH) or other time modulated UWB. After the reception of the first burst, the receiver can estimate the time of reception of the second burst to the accuracy of the time mark.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2002Date of Patent: August 29, 2006Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Ralph Thomas Hoctor, Stephen Michael Hladik

Patent number: 6715120Abstract: A turbo decoder system utilizing a MAP decoding algorithm has a predetermined number of turbo decoder modules for decoding segments of a turbo code component code word in parallel, thereby expanding the block-length and data rate capability of the turbo decoder. Upon completion of any half iteration of the MAP decoding algorithm, the a posteriori bit probability estimates are provided to an interleave/de-interleave-and-convert-data function block wherein they are re-ordered, segmented, used to modify the original received data samples, and provided back to the respective turbo decoder modules as input data samples for the systematic bits. Decoding continues in this manner until a predetermined number of half iterations is performed, and data decisions are made on the final a posteriori estimates.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2000Date of Patent: March 30, 2004Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Stephen Michael Hladik, Abdallah Mahmoud Itani, Nick Andrew Van Stralen, Robert Gideon Wodnicki, John Anderson Fergus Ross
