  • Patent number: 12046370
Abstract: An integrated disease management system provides patients with simple, quick, and readily available counseling regarding a healthy diabetic lifestyle. The system can include an interactive engine with predictive analytics and machine learning to provide a customized experience for a user. The system can be configured to transmit data to a remote server to perform analysis of received data (e.g., disease management data), to provide feedback to the user (e.g., customized feedback with curated content based on a user's data and interface interactions) and send all or a portion of the data and/or curated content to another user device or remote health management access point (e.g., as cloud storage) where the information can be accessed by healthcare stakeholder.

  • Publication number: 20080041592
Abstract: A method for completing an oil and gas well completion is provided. The perforators (10, 11) may be selected from any known or commonly used perforators and are typically deployed in a perforation gun. The perforators are aligned such that the cutting jets (12, 13) and their associated shockwaves converge towards each other such that their interaction causes increased fracturing of the rock strata. The cutting jets may be also be aligned such that the cutting jets are deliberately caused to collide causing further fracturing of the rock strata. In Ian alternative embodiment of the invention there is provided a shaped charge liner with at least two concave regions, whose geometry is selected such that upon the forced collapse of the liner a plurality of cutting jets is formed which jets are convergent or are capable of colliding in the rock strata.

  • Patent number: 6542846
Abstract: A thermal management system for a portable battery powered electronic device, and particularly, a portable battery powered ultrasound device, which controls the temperature of the device such that the external surface temperature satisfies medical safety regulatory requirements, and such that the heat generated by the device does not reduce battery life, reduce component life, decrease reliability of the device, or cause device shutdown because of overheating. A thermal management system monitors the respective temperatures of various system components, and, based on the monitored temperatures, performs control to cool the ultrasound system, maintaining the external surface temperature below the safety regulated temperatures and ensuring reliability of system components.

  • Patent number: 6471649
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, a compact flash technology is utilized in an ultrasound device for storing digital images. The digital images preferably are stored in a standard format, such as, for example, the JPEG format, so that no specialized software is required to access and view the images. Compact flash technology is readily available to consumers and generally is relatively inexpensive. Also, relatively low cost interfaces are available for PCs and some printers to enable the digital images stored on a compact flash disk to be easily downloaded to a PC or printer. Additionally, standard PCs typically are equipped with software that can read JPEG files. Therefore, personal users of the ultrasound device can easily download images to their PCs and access and view the images without the need for special equipment, training, or personnel.
