A controller wheel is attached to the motion-transmitting component by way of a cogged gear that converts the translational motion of the motion-transmitting component into a rotary motion on the part of the activating wheel.     Abstract: A safety arrangement for a motor-driven door or gate used to close building ntrances or doorways, in which a vertically movable overhead door consists of one part or a multiple number of parts. An elastically deformable hollow rubber section is provided at the closing edge of the door, and this hollow rubber section has an interior hollow space with first and second ends. At the first end of this hollow space, there is an air pressure-wave receiver signal transformer, whereas an air pressure-wave transmitter is connected to the second end. This transmitter generates a continuous air pressure oscillation having a first pulse duration and a first pulse frequency when the closing edge is freely movable through a path of motion of the door. The continuous oscillation has a second pulse duration which differs from the first pulse duration, and a second pulse frequency differing from the first pulse frequency when the closing edge strikes against an object positioned in the path of motion of the door.

    Abstract: Variable electrically motorized drive mechanism for gates or similar structure close-off devices that can be installed for the purpose of an assembly operation that is as heavy-duty as possible and without fine adjustments, for which purpose the gate is provided with controls that essentially comprise a position detector, a memory, and a reference-point indicator, the last of which is positioned between the gate-panel limiting positions and outside of any stop positions or defines a corresponding gate-panel reference-point position and synchronizes the position detector at each stroke such that the path that the panel is to travel along from the reference-point position into a particular desired position is dicated or monitored in accordance with a memory output that corresponds to the adjusted position. The system is accordingly continuously self-monitoring and can synchronize itself when the motor is started up again after a power outage and possibly manual operation of the gate.

A bar-shaped body is made from directly reduced tantalum powder of a given purity and is remelted repeatedly as a consumable electrode in an electron beam furnace. At least one heat treatment under vacuum is included in the process of making the stock material.

    Abstract: An arrangement for converting rotary motion into translational motion in which a motion-transmission device that is movable translationally, is divided into two strings that move longitudinally along their direction of motion. A driving motor provides rotational motion through a rotary drive. The strings are guided transversely and are positioned outside of a guide where they become separated. The strings, on the other hand, become united inside the guide, and this guide prevents the strings from being movable from each other laterally. The strings have teeth on sides facing each other in vicinity of the guide, and these strings have ends secured to an intermediate component in the guide, remote from the rotary drive. The intermediate component is common to both strings, and they become disengaged in vicinity of the intermediate component.

To make sure that the screws will fit through all the perforations once the strip has been shaped into a length of section, the perforations in one longitudinal border are larger than the perforations in the other longitudinal border and in the cross-section of each smaller perforation in the web on the sectional strut is in the vicinity of the correspondingly positioned larger perforation.

    Abstract: A door operated drive assembly comprising an electric drive motor mechanically connected to a door pulling device by a transmission in the form of a belt drive or the like, utilizes an extension of a plate that is swingable in response to deviations of application pressure of the drive belt on belt guide pulleys carried thereby to trigger a switching arrangement utilized to trigger stopping or reversal of the drive motor. In order to make actuation of the switching arrangement a function of the degree of pressure applied by the drive belt, the plate is elastically loaded toward a middle position of its range of swingable movement. The elastic loading of the plate in accordance with a first embodiment is by way of two-arm springs positioned at opposite sides thereof, and in a second embodiment is produced by helical springs which act via actuators, on opposite sides of the plate extension.

    Abstract: A latch assembly for use in combination with slidable doors is disclosed. A rotatable disk is connected to the door so that the plane of the disk is perpendicular to the door and parallel to the direction of door movement. A lock bolt which projects from the door jam is adapted to engage a slot in the disk as the door closes, causing the disk to rotate. As the disk rotates, it slides with respect to a spring loaded latch bolt until the bolt slides through a second slot in the disk, when the door is fully closed. Efforts to effectuate a forced entry of the door cause the resulting forces to be passed primarily between the disk and the lock bolt, while the latch bolt's primary function is to prevent rotation of the disk. Thus, an attempted forced entry will not cause excessive forces to be placed on the latch bolt. The latch bolt is slidably connected to a conventional manually operated garage door handle assembly including a lock.

    Abstract: Apparatus is provided for supporting and drivingly opening and closing an overhead single-panel door such as a garage door. The apparatus includes drive rollers protruding from the plane of the door at respective opposite upper corners thereof, which drive rollers are bearingly supported by a plate member attached to the door. These drive rollers are supported from underneath and in driving contact with fixed guide tracks arranged at the building accommodating the door. In order to insure continuous firm driving engagement of the drive rollers with the topside of the guide track, a bearing bracket is rotatably supported at the drive roller axles, which bearing bracket in turn supports a pair of counterpressure rollers engageable directly at the underside of the guide track.
