  • Publication number: 20110272509
Abstract: A device for chopping fiber strand includes a form, and a strand feeding mechanism that delivers the strand to the form and conveys the strand along the form. First and second grinding wheels may be included to cut the strand into individual segments of desired length as the strand is conveyed along the form. A method of chopping a fiber strand includes the steps of delivering a continuous strand onto a base end of a form, conveying the continuous strand along the form from the base end toward a discharge end and cutting the continuous strand into individual segments of desired length, for example using first and second grinding wheels.

  • Patent number: 6953456
Abstract: Digital tampons are disclosed which are capable of radially expanding into a non circular cross-sectional shape upon exposure to a wet environment, typically in use condition, so as to reduce bypass leakage. The inventions also relates to tampon blanks and a process of producing the tampons.

  • Publication number: 20040067809
Abstract: The invention relates to an actuating device for a vehicle steering system, said actuating device being designed as an epicyclic gear (1), in which is arranged a stepped planet (2) or are arranged a plurality of stepped planets (2), of which in each case two interconnected planet wheels (4 and 5) are in constant engagement with other gear wheels (11 and 12) of the epicyclic gear (1), pivotably mounted levers (8) acted upon by force by means of springs being integrated in or on the carrier plates (7) of the planet carrier (6) and having bearings (21) for receiving the journals (13) of a stepped planet (2), the planet axes of the stepped planets (2) mounted in the levers (8) being displaceable approximately radially.

  • Publication number: 20030208179
Abstract: This invention discloses digital tampons comprising a substantially cylindrical mass of compressed fibers, the tampons having a fibrous core substantially surrounding the central axis of the tampons and an uneven number of 7 or 9 ribs which extend radially outwards from the core.

  • Patent number: 6182332
Abstract: In a method of forming discrete length fibers, a first engagement member is moved in orbit relative to a second engagement member. A continuous fiber is positioned between the first and second engagement members. The fiber is engaged between the first and second engagement members to cut it into discrete length fibers.

  • Patent number: 6038949
Abstract: A method for dispensing discrete length reinforcement fibers. A continuous length of a reinforcement fiber is wound around a base end of a form, the base end having a generally circular cross-section, to form generally circular coils. The coils are moved axially from the base end of the form to an elongated portion of the form, the elongated portion having an elongated cross-section, to change the shape of the coils from the generally circular shape to an elongated shape. The elongated coils are cut to form discrete length reinforcement fibers. The discrete length reinforcement fibers are then dispensed.
