Publication number: 20230398043Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of medicinal tissue mineralisation, in particular, i.e. tooth remineralisation and bone regeneration with self-assembling peptides. Use of self-assembling peptides, such as P11-4, also designated Oligopeptide-104, in these processes leads to generation of hydroxyapatite, which is also present in natural enamel, dentin and bone. The inventors have discovered that both tooth remineralisation and bone regeneration can be significantly accelerated by adding amorphous calcium phosphate or calcium and phosphate ions that, when mixed in solution, can lead to immediate precipitation of calcium phosphate, preferably, amorphous, i.e., non-crystalline calcium phosphate. The presence of self-assembling peptide however changes the structure of the precipitated calcium phosphate, and advantageously induces crystallisation and a synergistic accelerated formation of crystalline calcium phosphate, in particular, hydroxyapatite (HA).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2021Publication date: December 14, 2023Inventors: Michael HUG, Dominikus Amadeus LYSEK

Publication number: 20220354751Abstract: The invention is in the field of caries prevention and treatment, in particular minimally-invasive, or non-invasive dental decay treatment. It relates to a composition and a kit comprising a self-assembling peptide, such as the self-assembling peptide P11-4 or P11-8, and a dental agent, namely a dental sealant, e.g. a glass-ionomer cement-based sealant or a resin-based sealant, a fluoride varnish, a dental restorative material or a bonding agent. The invention further relates to a composition and kit comprising a self-assembling peptide and a dental agent for use in the treatment of a carious lesion, preferably a cavitated carious lesion. The self-assembling peptide prevents secondary caries after failure of the dental agent used in treatment of cavitated caries, especially in case of a failing interface between the restoration with the dental agent and the tooth. The composition and kit of the present invention may also be used for pulp capping.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2020Publication date: November 10, 2022Inventors: Dominikus Amadeus Lysek, Michael Hug, Brian B. Patent number: 5431893Abstract: In a process for cleaning the exhaust gases from combustion installations, a dilute urea solution prepared in a reagent tank (20) is introduced into the hot exhaust gas flow (30) of differing concentrations and is finely sprayed in the direction of the exhaust gas flow. After decomposition of the urea in a pyrolysation channel (14), the exhaust gas flow (30) is homogeneously mixed in-line by a mixer located in a mixing channel (16). In a subsequent in-line reaction channel (18), the reducible exhaust gas constituents are converted into non-toxic gases in at least one selective reduction catalyst which does not contain zeolite (36), then, dependent on the installation, the oxidizable exhaust gas components are converted into non-toxic gases without reagent in at least one oxidation catalyst (38) to produce a virtually complete reaction.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 1993Date of Patent: July 11, 1995Inventors: Hans T.
