  • Patent number: 7017892
Abstract: A suspension strut including a piston rod extending from a cylinder, a connection bearing for connecting the piston rod to a vehicle body, a spring loading the cylinder away from the connection bearing, and a spring plate supporting the spring axially with respect to the connection bearing. A first bearing enables relative rotational movement between the spring plate and the connection bearing, and a second bearing enables relative rotational movement between the connection bearing and a stop buffer arranged between the connection bearing and the cylinder.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 28, 2002
Date of Patent: March 28, 2006
    Assignee: ZF Sachs AG
Inventors: Gabriela Hurrlein, Manfred Schuler, Alexander Miller, Klaus Stretz, Michael Hurrlein
  • Patent number: 6767010
Abstract: Suspension strut comprising a cylinder and a spring perch which is axially displaceable relative to the cylinder for adjustment of the position, wherein the spring perch has a sleeve portion by which the connection to the cylinder is carried out. A chamber is arranged on the cylinder side which is at least partly filled with a moldable material. The sleeve portion contacts the moldable material, which in a solid state transmits a supporting force from the cylinder to the spring perch.

  • Publication number: 20040135301
Abstract: Bearing for a piston rod of a piston-cylinder unit, including a bearing body mounting on the piston rod side and a counter-bearing of a component to be carried by the piston rod. The counter-bearing is designed as a bearing flange, the top and bottom side of which are fitted with respective bearing bodies in the form of slide bearings. The bearing body mounting supports the counter-bearing axially on both sides and the two bearing bodies are preloaded by a spring towards the bearing body mounting.

  • Patent number: 5893435
Abstract: Vibration damper, in particular a shock absorbing strut, with an essentially U-shaped decompression stop boundary bracket, which bracket is fastened to a container tube, and in the event of a rebound of a vehicle axle comes into contact with a chassis-side support surface. The bracket includes a base plate with side walls, and the entire decompression stop boundary bracket is formed from a single bent component. The base plate is realized in a seamless manner and has a cutout which is adapted to the diameter of the container tube and acts as a positioning stop for the entire decompression stop boundary bracket.

  • Patent number: 5649692
Abstract: A self-actuating vibration damper for use in a pneumatic suspension system of a motor vehicle having an air spring that defines an air chamber is disclosed. Located within the air chamber is an actuator rod mounted between two air valves. Upon application of a sufficiently heavy load to the vibration damper, a first end of the actuator rod closes the first air valve to prevent release of air from the air chamber to the outside atmosphere, and a second end of the actuator rod opens the second valve to admit compressed air into the air chamber.
