    Abstract: An injector includes a housing having a syringe assembly and an actuating mechanism at least partially disposed within the housing. The syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel that stores a medicament to be injected into a user, a needle assembly, and a filter member disposed adjacent to the needle assembly. The actuating mechanism is operatively coupled to the syringe assembly and includes a torque spring that exerts a torque to urge the medicament through the filter member to be injected into the user. The actuating mechanism further includes a damper mechanism that exerts an opposing force to dampen the motion exerted by the torque spring.

    Abstract: A drug delivery device includes a housing, an injection assembly at least partially disposed in the housing, a shield, and a drive assembly at least partially disposed in the housing and coupled with the injection assembly and the shield. The shield has an extended position where at least a proximal end thereof extends a distance beyond a proximal end of the housing. The injection assembly includes a needle or cannula having an endpoint. Upon moving the shield axially towards the distal end of the housing a predetermined distance, a retraction profile commences whereby the drive assembly administers a medicament via the injection assembly. A peak resistance force is exerted within approximately the first 12 mm of axial movement of the shield.

    Abstract: An orthopaedic support having outer and inner resilient layers wherein the outer resilient layer is comprised of neoprene or another material suitable for surrounding and supporting a portion of the human anatomy through compression and a inner resilient layer generally coextensive with a substantial portion of the outer resilient layer which may be comprised of a material selected to enhance the performance and comfort of the orthopaedic support. The inner and outer resilient layers may be secured together in discrete zones but are otherwise freely stretchable or movable relative to one another. Where desired, the outer resilient layer may be provided with an aperture configured to receive a discrete area of the supported body member such as the knee cap which may be sensitive to pressure. The inner resilient layer of such a support may be provided with a corresponding aperture or, in the alternative, the inner resilient layer may extend across the aperture in the outer resilient layer.
