Patent number: 7343720Abstract: A capping device fits caps onto containers by applying an axial force to the caps as they are threaded onto the containers. The capping device utilizes a spindle rotatable about an operational axis for imparting rotation to a capper unit. A connector coupled to the capper unit is releasably coupled to the spindle by a quick release mechanism. The quick release mechanism is normally biased in the locked position and is configured to automatically move from the unlocked position back to the locked position when the connector mates with the spindle as a user re-connects the capping unit back to the spindle. Methods of releasing and re-connecting the capping unit to the spindle are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2006Date of Patent: March 18, 2008Assignee: Adcor Industries, Inc.Inventor: Michael J. Patent number: 7331157Abstract: A capping device fits caps onto containers by applying an axial force to the caps as they are threaded onto the containers. The capping device utilizes a drive member rotatable about an operational axis for imparting rotation to a capper body slidably coupled to the drive member. A helical spring urges the capper body away from the drive member with a biasing force. An adjustment mechanism adjusts the biasing force thereby adjusting the axial force applied to the caps as they are threaded onto the containers. A pair of retaining pins move between a latched position to prevent adjustment of the biasing force and an unlatched position to allow adjustment of the biasing force. The retaining pins are biased in the latched position to prevent inadvertent adjustment of the biasing force during use.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2006Date of Patent: February 19, 2008Assignee: ADCOR Industries, Inc.Inventor: Michael J. Patent number: 7270153Abstract: The subject invention discloses a variety of different maintenance devices for use with a filling valve apparatus. The maintenance devices each include a movable component and a locking mechanism. An actuator of the locking mechanism is coupled to a caming section of the movable component for moving the movable component between a release position with a rim of the movable component spaced from fingers of the locking mechanism and an engaged position with the rim abutting the fingers. The fingers are wedged between the movable component and the filling valve apparatus when the movable component is in the engaged position for securing the device to the filling valve apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2005Date of Patent: September 18, 2007Assignee: Adcor Industries, Inc.Inventors: Demetrios Stavrakis, Michael J. Publication number: 20070169604Abstract: A counter rotational package wrapping removal system and method of operation for cutting wrapping from a wrapped product has a transport for continuously moving the wrapped product in a downstream direction as the wrapping is cut. The system has a first cutter located at a distal end of a pivoting arm and preferably a second cutter located at the distal end of a second pivoting arm. Both cutters cut at least a portion of the wrapping along a leading side face of the wrapped product and each cutter cuts the wrapping at respective flanking side faces as the wrapped product move along the transport. The arms pivot in opposite directions and about respective pivoting axis orientated substantially parallel to one another and preferably perpendicular to the transport.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 23, 2007Publication date: July 26, 2007Applicant: ADCOR INDUSTRIES, INC.Inventor: Michael J. Publication number: 20070169438Abstract: A package wrapping removal system and method of operation for removing a wrapping from a product has a first cutter that cuts the wrapping along a first side face of the wrapped product as the product moves along a first transport. A second transport of the system then receives the wrapped product from the first transport. As the wrapped product moves along the second transport, the first cutter and an opposing second cutter cut the wrapping along respective flanking side faces of the product. A vacuum device integrated into the second transport then removes the wrapping as one piece as the unwrapped product continues to move downstream.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 23, 2007Publication date: July 26, 2007Applicant: ADCOR INDUSTRIES, INC.Inventor: Michael J. Patent number: 6358445Abstract: A process for preparing a multilayered foam article such as an automotive seat is disclosed. A mold is arranged so that the bottom surface of the mold is flat or inclined up to 40 degrees to the horizontal plane. The first liquid foam formulation designed to produce a soft foam is poured into the mold from a mixing head outlet strip-wise across the seating zone of the mold along the line parallel to but near the external wall of the seating zone of the mold. Then, the second liquid foam formulation designed to produce a hard foam is poured into the mold from the same or different mixing head outlet strip-wise across the seating zone of the mold along the line parallel to but nearer to the external wall of the mold than the line of pouring of the first liquid foam formulation. The second liquid foam formulation is then allowed to spread on top of the first liquid foam formulation, the mold is closed and the foames are allowed to rise and cure in the mold.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1999Date of Patent: March 19, 2002Assignee: The Dow Chemical CompanyInventors: Francois M.
