    Abstract: A device for holding multiple sample tubes for automatic temperature control has a block made of heat conductive material, a heating bore extending longitudinally through the block, and multiple sample tube wells. The block has a cross-section wherein a plurality of wells are positioned and arranged in relation to the bore such that the wells are substantially equidistant from the bore, thereby minimizing temperature gradients between the wells.
