  • Publication number: 20240102818
Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device can proactively determine a destination and request traffic information for routes from a starting location to the destination. In some implementations, a computing device can identify some routes between a starting location and a destination as non-recommended routes and recommend other routes. In some implementations, a computing device can rank routes between a starting location and a destination based on automatically-determined user interest. In some implementations, a computing device can determine a user is familiar with a route and adjust the information presented to the user about the route accordingly.

  • Patent number: 8777518
Abstract: A skid for positioning a pipe or a piece of earth boring equipment includes a first frame and a second frame slidably mounted on the first frame. The second frame forms a rectangular trough having an open upper end. An upwardly opening cradle rests in the open upper end of the rectangular tough of the second frame that supports the pipe or the piece of earth boring equipment. A first vertical sack mechanism is attached to a first end of the first frame and a first end of the second frame. A second vertical jack mechanism is attached to a second end of the first frame and a second end of the second frame. • Patent number: 5421740
Abstract: Electronic circuit pack and mounting frame combination in which a mating connector joined to conductors coming in for connection to the circuit pack, is held within a connector holder for protection and connection purposes. Straight line action of the connector holder is ensured to ensure proper alignment of the mating connector with the circuit pack connector. It is preferable for the connector holder to be permanently attached to the frame to support the weight of the holder and minimize strain upon the incoming conductors.

  • Patent number: 5289521
Abstract: A control unit device and system is provided that allows a verbally handicapped person or normal young child to interact with a remote speech development computer system to assist in the development of verbal communications and cognitive skills. The electronic circuit of the control unit provides an interface to a standard telephone network that allows communications with the remote computer system. The remote computer system consists of a high quality speech synthesizer with a telephone interface, a personal computer, and a controlling software program that contains the speech development exercises. The control unit electronic circuit further provides audio reproduction of the synthesized voice of the remote computer, DTMF (dual tone multiple frequency) tone decoding to control output devices as commanded by the remote computer, and DTMF tone encoding to allow input devices to send signals to the program on the remote computer.

  • Patent number: 4544983
Abstract: An overvoltage protection device, for protecting communications equipment against hazardous voltages cue to lightning or power surges, comprises a primary protector, for example a gas tube device, and a back-up protector connected in parallel. The back-up protector includes a semiconductor pn junction, and is preferably a pair of diodes back-to-back. The back-up protector has a breakdown voltage slightly higher than that of the primary protector and is arranged to fail short-circuit once it has operated so as to provide an indication that the primary protector failed to operate.
