    Abstract: A low profile fixed shaft disc drive motor with separate disc mounting and motor sections. The motor is ball staked to a cup shaped piece of sheet metal, which is in turn screwed onto the casing of the disc drive. The motor shaft has an integral lamination mounting flange. The hub has a lower, cup shaped magnet section which has a feature for mounting the discs which is the same length as a disc spacer.
