  • Patent number: 11287204
Abstract: Provided is a last round bolt hold-open mechanism for a firearm with a removable ammunition magazine and a longitudinally reciprocating bolt that automatically releases the bolt when a loaded ammunition magazine is inserted. The mechanism includes a frame mountable to a firearm receiver and having a pair of mounting flanges. A catch member is pivotally mounted on a pivot axle oriented transverse to the longitudinal reciprocation of the bolt and carried by the mounting flanges. The catch member has a rearward portion that moves between bolt blocking and bolt release positions and is spring biased toward the bolt blocking position. A forwardly extending finger is configured to be lifted by the presence of at least one ammunition cartridge in the magazine and, when lifted, causes the catch member to pivot to the bolt release position.

  • Patent number: 11181196
Abstract: A multilayer static gasket, stopper region containing distance layer therefor and methods of construction thereof are provided. The gasket includes at least one metal functional layer and at distance layer including a stopper region. The functional layer has a seal bead surrounding at least one passage to be sealed. The distance layer has a thickness extending between generally planar opposite sides, with each of the opposite sides of the distance layer having a plurality of protrusions extending outwardly therefrom and a plurality of depressions extending inwardly therein, wherein the protrusions and depressions form the stopper region. Each of the depressions extends into a separate protrusion, thereby forming an underside of the associated protrusion. The depressions extend into the opposite sides of the distance layer a distance that is equal to or greater than ½ of the thickness of the distance layer.

  • Patent number: 10816289
Abstract: A multi-column box magazine for rimmed ammunition cartridges of varied lengths has an elongated housing with a neck portion where cartridges are arranged in a single column and a mouth at an upper feed end through which cartridges are inserted and extracted. In a multi-column portion, cartridges are arranged in laterally alternating columns, and in a transition portion the alternating columns are transitioned into the single column as the cartridges are moved toward the mouth within the housing. A follower is biased by a spring toward the mouth. The multi-column portion has a forward interior surface limiting forward movement position of cartridges, which varies depending on individual cartridge length, and the neck portion having a forwardly sloped rearward wall which confronts the cartridge rim and shifts the cartridge forward, as needed, as cartridges are moved upwardly within the housing to the mouth.

  • Patent number: 10443731
Abstract: A gasket for providing a gas and fluid tight between parts of an internal combustion engine, for example around a combustion chamber opening, is provided. The gasket includes a functional layer with a full embossment spaced from the combustion chamber opening. A stopper layer is attached to the functional layer adjacent the combustion chamber opening. After attaching the stopper layer to the functional layer, half embossments are simultaneously formed in the functional layer and the stopper layer adjacent the combustion chamber opening. The aligned half embossments are together referred to as a half-stop. The half-stop maintains the load on the stopper layer, limits compression on the full embossment, and protects the full embossment from combustion gases when the gasket is compressed between two parts of the internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 8448364
Abstract: Disclosed is a double stack box magazine for rimmed ammunition cartridges of varied lengths. It includes a housing having a neck portion in which cartridges are arranged in a single column, a double-stack portion in which cartridges are arranged in laterally alternating columns, and a transition portion between the neck portion and the double-stack portion. A pair of rim clearance channels is provided, on opposed interior lateral surfaces of the housing. A first channel portion allows clearance for cartridge rims without respect to forward and rearward position of the cartridges within the housing, which may vary depending on individual cartridge length. A second channel portion in the neck provides an abutment against which laterally opposed areas of a cartridge rim bear to shift the cartridge to a rearward position. A third channel portion provides transition between the first and second channel portions.

  • Patent number: 6635872
Abstract: A method and system for increasing the efficiency and reducing the time required for defect inspection of microfabricated structures such as semiconductor wafers, masks or reticles for micro-fabrication, flat panel displays, micro-electro-mechanical (MEMs). In one embodiment a method of inspection of micro-fabricated structures is optimized by statistically analyzing defect data during inspection by collecting defect data during inspection, calculating at least one statistic of the defect data, continuing inspection while the at least one statistic is outside a predetermined range and stopping inspection when the at least one statistic is within the predetermined range.

  • Patent number: 5665229
Abstract: An in-tank fuel filter for securement to an in-tank fuel pump assembly includes a retaining or mounting ring which is utilized to secure the filter to the fuel pump assembly inlet. The mounting ring includes a collar which is received about the outlet stack of the fuel filter assembly and assists retention of the fuel filter assembly on the fuel pump inlet and maintains a fluid tight seal notwithstanding dimensional changes of the outlet stack occasioned by long term contact with fuel. The fuel pump assembly also includes a depending lug parallel to but offset from the inlet fitting. The mounting ring also includes complementary means to receive and grip the lug, namely, a plurality of resilient fingers arranged in a non-circular, i.e., elongate pattern such as an oval which compensates for inlet fitting to lug spacing variations and retains the fuel filter on the fuel pump assembly during subsequent manufacturing and assembly steps.
