    Abstract: A system and method of forming a wooden shear wall including a framed wall section having multiple framing members including a first and second end posts, a center post framing member, a mudsill bottom plate coupled to a bottom end of the framing members and a top plate coupled to a top end of the framing members. Two plywood panels are fastened to a first side of the framed wall section with a ductile metal gauge strap, ductile metal gauge strap securing adjacent edges of the plywood panels to the center post and multiple metal gauge straps, disposed along the edges of the plywood panels secure the edges of the plywood panels to the framed wall section.

    Abstract: A system, method and apparatus of connecting a beam to a column includes a haunch including a first haunch side coupled to a first side of the beam and a bend plate secured to a first end of the haunch. The haunch is coupled to the column by the bend plate separated from the column by a spacer plate. A top plate extends a first distance along a top surface of the beam and the top plate includes a column opening encompassing the column, the top plate is secured to the top surface of the beam. A first edge of the spacer plate can be separated from a second haunch side by a yielding region, wherein the second haunch side is opposite from the first haunch side. The bend plate can be welded to the first end of the haunch.
