  • Patent number: 7472721
Abstract: A closure includes a hub having a bore in fluid communication with the port of a vessel. A door is removably positioned within the bore of the hub, and a locking ring is threaded with the hub thread for moving the door to a closed and circumferentially sealed position against the shoulder. At least one rotatable actuator element, such as a plurality of gears, engages the locking ring and is rotated to rotate the locking ring. A breaker bar or impact wrench could be used to rotatable drive the actuator elements.

  • Publication number: 20080296302
Abstract: A closure 10 is provided for retaining fluid pressure within a vessel, and comprises a hub 12 having an access opening to the vessel, with the hub having a circumferential stop 17 and one or more recesses 50 each extending radially outward from an adjacent inner surface 26 of the hub. A door 22 is positioned between the stop surface and the vessel, and a latch member 30 brings the door into sealing engagement with the stop member. One or more lugs 24 each extend radially outward from an exterior surface of the door, such that a respective lug engages the hub about a respective recess to seal the door to the hub, while the door may be moved to pass through the one or more recesses and out of the hub.

  • Patent number: 7419007
Abstract: A pumping system 10 is provided for pumping fluid from a downhole well to the surface through a production tubing string well. A rotatable drive rod 18 extends from the surface to power the downhole pump, and includes a plurality of rod couplings. The downhole pump includes a pump stator 22 and a rotor 24 rotatable within the pump stator. A lifting member 36 provided at the upper end of the stator is engaged by a drive coupling 34 to retrieve the pump from the well. The lifting member has an internal shoulder 44 tapered radially inwardly and upwardly, such that a rod coupling engages the internal shoulder and passes through the lifting member as the rotor is pulled upward.

  • Patent number: 6695060
Abstract: A downhole pump system allows fluid to be pumped from a well to the surface through a production tubing string, while also allowing the downhole pump 10 to be retrieved to the surface while the production tubing string remains in the well. The downhole pump may include a hold down housing 12, a mandrel 14, a drive coupling 18, and a lifting nut 20. The pump is driven by a drive rod, which conventionally extends from the surface to the downhole pump. Axial movement of pump components may be prevented by a spring lock mechanism 24, while torque transmitting surfaces 26 prevent rotation of the pump housing 12 with respect to a landing nipple 25.
