  • Patent number: 11808296
Abstract: A system includes a first vehicle component and a second vehicle component. The first vehicle component includes a first panel, a T-shaped projection protruding from a mating surface of the first panel, and a locking projection protruding from the mating surface of the first panel. The second vehicle component includes a second panel and a pair of ramped ribs projecting from a non-mating surface of the second panel. The second panel defines a slot that extends through the non-mating surface thereof. The slot includes a first portion having a first width and a second portion having a second width that is less than the first width. The ramped ribs are disposed on opposite sides of the second portion of the slot. The first vehicle component is configured to be fastened to the second vehicle component and located relative to the second vehicle component.

  • Publication number: 20150123408
Abstract: A pushbutton latch mechanism includes a module housing having first, second and third housing walls defining respective housing openings. The mechanism may be employed in a glove box assembly in a vehicle. An actuator is positioned at least partially within the module housing and defines an actuator slot. The actuator includes an actuator arm configured to be slidable relative to the second housing opening. A pushbutton is operatively connected to the module housing and includes a button arm configured to be insertable into the actuator slot and the first housing opening. Depression of the pushbutton in a first direction causes a first angled surface of the button arm to engage with a second angled surface of the actuator arm, thereby translating the actuator arm and a latch arm in a second direction in order to move the latch mechanism to an unlatched position.
