  • Publication number: 20240130688
Abstract: This relates to methods for measuring irregularities in a signal and corresponding devices. The devices can include a PPG sensor unit configured to detect multiple occurrences of a given event in the measured signal(s) over a sampling interval. In some instances, the device can register the occurrences of the events. In some examples, the device can include one or more motion sensors configured to detect whether the device is in a low-motion state. The device may delay initiating measurements when the device is not in a low-motion state to enhance measurement accuracy. Examples of the disclosure further include resetting the sample procedure based on one or more factors such as the number of non-qualifying measurements. In some examples, the device can be configured to perform both primary and secondary measurements, where the primary measurements can include readings using a set of operating conditions different from the secondary measurements.

  • Patent number: 11962592
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques might provide for implementing application, service, and/or content access control. Based at least in part on a consumer's choice of applications, services, content, and/or content providers—particular in exchange for a subsidy on content and/or network access fees provided to the consumer by chosen content providers—, a computing system may determine whether access to applications, services, and/or content not associated with the chosen content providers (“other content”) should be allowed or restricted. If restricted, the computing system might utilize various network access techniques and/or technologies to block the consumer's access to the other content, to allow access to the other content on a charge per access basis, or to allow access to the other content at reduced network access speeds. In some embodiments, an access provider (e.g., an Internet service provider, etc.) might perform both determination and implementation of content access and restriction.

  • Publication number: 20240091442
Abstract: Methods, devices and systems are disclosed for inter-app communications between software applications on a mobile communications device. In one aspect, a computer-readable medium on a mobile computing device comprising an inter-application communication data structure to facilitate transitioning and distributing data between software applications in a shared app group for an operating system of the mobile computing device includes a scheme field of the data structure providing a scheme id associated with a target software app to transition to from a source software app, wherein the scheme id is listed on a scheme list stored with the source software app; and a payload field of the data structure providing data and/or an identification where to access data in a shared file system accessible to the software applications in the shared app group, wherein the payload field is encrypted.

  • Publication number: 20150190310
Abstract: A medical device for collecting bodily samples, such as urine specimens from a human or animal, comprising a collection cup, and a detachable or separate handle. The handle proximal member may be telescopic with multiple sections for its extension, or one section. The handle distal member may comprise one prong that is detachable from the cup after its use; or, it may comprise a two prong fork that lies underneath a cup's ledge, and expandable to support different diameter cups. The distal member may also comprise a pivoting means to enable the handle to bend to maintain the cup horizontally. The collection cup may comprise various shapes and sizes, and the lid able to be fixed to the handle's distal member when the cup is in use. The cup may also inherently emit light, or a light source may be mounted on the handle to illuminate the cup.

  • Publication number: 20090293892
Abstract: A portable vaporizer for plant material has an inhalation tube having a distal end for insertion into a cigarette lighter receptacle of a vehicle. An electrical heating element within the inhalation tube is powered by the vehicle's electrical system when the inserted into the cigarette lighter receptacle. A plant material chamber on the proximal end of the inhalation tube has openings allowing air from the inhalation tube to be drawn through the inhalation tube, heated by the electrical heating element, and then drawn through the plant material held in the plant material chamber. A housing having a mouthpiece and baffles surrounds the plant material chamber to reduce the temperature of the heated air and vaporized plant material. The user inhales the mixture of heated air and vaporized plant material through the mouthpiece by drawing air through the inhalation tube, plant material chamber and housing.

  • Patent number: 7217578
Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to various advanced process control methodologies for thermal oxidation processes, and various systems for accomplishing same. In one illustrative embodiment, the method comprises measuring an ambient pressure of an environment external to an oxidation chamber, determining a correction factor based upon at least the measured ambient pressure, determining at least one parameter of a thermal oxidation process to be performed in the oxidation chamber based upon the determined correction factor, and performing the thermal oxidation process comprised of the determined parameter on at least one substrate positioned in the oxidation chamber.
