  • Patent number: 7023312
Abstract: A dry-type, resin-encapsulated transformer coil that includes multiple layers formed from a length of conductive material, and multiple cooling ducts that are formed of thermoplastic material and spaced between the layers of conductive material. The thermoplastic material forming the cooling ducts and the resin that encapsulates the multiple layers of conductive material are thermally and electrically compatible.

  • Patent number: 4501615
Abstract: An anti-corrosive coating composition includes as an anti-corrosive pigment dispersed in a film-forming binder a salt of a polyvalent metal cation and an organic polyphosphonic acid containing at least 2 phosphonic acid groups. The ratio of polyvalent metal cations to phosphonate groups in the salt is at least 0.8/n:1, where n is the valency of the polyvalent metal ion.

  • Patent number: 4476624
Abstract: A method for making spirally wound cells using a deformed metal strip mandrel with an electrode being forced therein by a compressing element fixedly retained by the mandrel to hold the electrode during winding. The electrode is electrically connected to the mandrel by the compressing force.

  • Patent number: 4021739
Abstract: A radio frequency receiver system adapted to monitor the international radio-telegraph distress frequency is disclosed. The system comprises a first receiver section coupled to a receiving antenna. Such receiver section includes an automatic gain control circuit having a relatively long time response characteristic for adjusting the sensitivity of the receiver section in accordance with the average level of received background noise, thereby to pass sudden radio frequency signals having levels above the average level of the received background noise and which are substantially unaffected by the automatic gain control circuit. The passed radio frequency signals are fed to a second receiver section. Such second receiver section includes an automatic gain control circuit which is responsive to the average level of the received background noise level in the absence of a sudden strong signal, and which is, in the presence of a sudden strong signal, responsive to the level of such sudden strong signal.
