  • Publication number: 20240094233
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods, devices and systems for associating consumable data with an assay consumable used in a biological assay. Provided are assay systems and associated consumables, wherein the assay system adjusts one or more steps of an assay protocol based on consumable data specific for that consumable. Various types of consumable data are described, as well as methods of using such data in the conduct of an assay by an assay system. The present invention also relates to consumables (e.g., kits and reagent containers), software, data deployable bundles, computer-readable media, loading carts, instruments, systems, and methods, for performing automated biological assays.

  • Patent number: 7107833
Abstract: An inertial reference unit (IRU) is described which includes a processor programmed to provide inertial data from received inertial signals, a primary sensor unit providing the inertial signals to the processor, and an input/output (I/O) unit communicatively coupled to the processor. The I/O unit provides signals, including inertial data, to an external interface of the IRU and routes signals to and from the processor. The inertial reference unit also includes a secondary sensor unit separate from the primary sensor unit which provides inertial data independent of the inertial data provided by the processor.

  • Patent number: 5984594
Abstract: A drill rig for drilling access holes in drill resistant materials, such as those used to construct safes or other secure containers. The drill rig includes a drill bit holding and advancing mechanism having enclosed threaded members for allowing incremental, even pressure to be applied during a drilling operation while preventing burrs and chips from becoming lodged within the threads. A sliding connection is provided between stationary frame structure of the rig and the drill bit holding and advancing mechanism. The connection includes a spring loaded, quick-release mechanism for allowing quick detachment of the drill bit holding and advancing mechanism from the frame structure at the end of a drilling operation or as needed to replace the drill bit.

  • Patent number: 5961739
Abstract: A hemispheric moving focus power plant (10) has a hemispheric solar reflector (12) for reflecting solar energy. A receiver (14) for receiving reflected solar energy and producing power therefrom is movably connected to the hemispheric solar reflector (12). The receiver (14) includes a frame with a top (24), to which a plurality of photovoltaic cells are connected, and a support (26). Further, a power conditioner (16) is connected to the receiver (14) for receiving power from the receiver (14) and conditioning the power for use.
