  • Patent number: 11931492
Abstract: A system and method for balancing flows of renal replacement fluid is disclosed. The method uses pressure controls and pressure sensing devices to more precisely meter and balance the flow of fresh dialysate and spent dialysate. The balancing system may use one or two balancing devices, such as a balance tube, a tortuous path, or a balance chamber.

  • Patent number: 7876526
Abstract: A fill-port sealing assembly for sealing a housing, such as a hermetically sealed housing of a data storage device. A fill port body extends through an opening in a substrate and has a central bore communicating between a first side and a second side of the substrate. A compression member threadingly engages the central bore to compress an annular seal member and seal against passage of a low density gas through the central bore.

  • Patent number: 6059663
Abstract: A one-piece sealing system for a universal joint assembly. A lubricant seal adapted to prevent the leakage of lubricant between the trunnion and bearing cup of a universal joint wherein the trunnion has a cylindrical portion merging into an outwardly flaring arcuate portion, the seal including an elastomer body bonded to the interior of a stiffening ring.

  • Patent number: 4897738
Abstract: A circuit for generating frequency-modulated signals for data to be recorded on magnetic tape has a converter to produce a control current I.sub.c for a capacitor C. A detection logic circuit senses voltage V.sub.c across the capacitor C and generates an appropriate frequency f which is fed to a charge pump, for discharging of capacitor C by a predetermined amount at a rate dependent on the frequency f. Control current I.sub.c then charges capacitor C again and the cycle is repeated. A starter circuit is also provided to ensure that the circuit oscillates on each cycle.

  • Patent number: 4777450
Abstract: A demodulating circuit includes an exclusive OR gate which has a first input for a frequency modulated signal and a second input connected via a delay to a frequency dividing circuit. The second input is initially low so that an output signal is produced by the gate, enabling a pulse generator, whenever the first input is high. The pulse generator produces a train of pulses of predetermined length and frequency. These pulses are counted in a counter and the count is compared in a comparator with a predetermined number n. On the n.sup.th pulse, the comparator sets a bistable circuit which then produces an end-of-pulse-train signal, triggering the frequency dividing circuit. In response, the frequency dividing circuit produces an output signal which causes the second input of the OR gate to go high, thereby disabling the pulse generator.

  • Patent number: 4523383
Abstract: A probe for sensing the position of a workpiece comprises a housing adapted to be secured to a coordinate measuring machine. A stylus projecting from the housing is engageable with the workpiece for sensing the position thereof. The stylus is secured to a moveable member supported within the housing by three bellows having mutually perpendicular axes and each secured to the moveable member and the housing in position therebetween. Since a bellows is inherently stiff in torsion about its axis but is flexible axially and transversely, the bellows cooperate to constrain the stylus for parallel motion. More particularly, any one first bellows can expand or contract to accommodate movement of the stylus in the direction of the axis of that the first bellows, a second one of the bellows prevents tilting of the stylus by virtue of its torsional stiffness. At the same time both the second and third bellows flex transversely to accommodate the expansion or contraction of the first bellows.
