  • Publication number: 20040240994
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention provide a two-piece fan housing having a seam between first and second housing pieces. In some embodiments, a portion of the seam extends circumferentially about the fan housing while also extending axially. Also, some embodiments of the present invention provide an integrally-formed intake wall at or adjacent the fan housing intake aperture and extending axially into the fan housing. The axially extending intake wall can also extend radially inwardly to define an inlet restriction of the fan housing.

  • Patent number: 4654783
Abstract: A technique for starting up a data processing system in which a "basic" or "kernel" instruction set is stored in an auxiliary store and transferred to the processor's control store in start-up. The kernel instruction set in used to execute an initialization program which identifies an I/O device in which a microcode local program and a desired microcode file are stored. No microcode load program is transferred to the processor's main memory, using the kernel instructions and the desired microcode file is then transferred in selected blocks from the I/O device to the main memory and there to the microcode control store. The microinstructions of the desired microcode file then can be used to load appropriate operating system software so that the overall processor is then ready for use in whatever applications are desirable.

  • Patent number: 4225206
Abstract: An electrical socket connector is detachably secured to an electromagnetic fuel injector having a pair of upstanding pin terminals located on opposite sides of and radially spaced from an upstanding central boss. The electrical socket connector has a connector body comprising a pair of longitudinal, laterally spaced terminal housings each having a pin grip terminal disposed therein and receiving one of the pin terminals. The terminal housings are connected together by integral bridges and a pair of longitudinally spaced, vertical latch arms are disposed between the terminal housings and pivotally connected thereto for latching onto the central boss. A seal member comprises a pair of elastomeric sleeves which are connected by an integral saddle at one end and mounted on the depending sockets respectively. Each sleeve has an inward circular sealing lip which seals around a plastic sleeve surrounding the pin terminal inserted into its associated socket.
