  • Patent number: 7150791
Abstract: A floating head liquid dispenser includes a robotic control mechanism for moving a support member toward and away from a substrate. A liquid dispensing head is operatively connected to the support member for movement relative thereto upon contact with the substrate. A linear displacement sensor is operatively connected to the support member and the liquid dispensing head so that displacement of the liquid dispensing head relative to the support member is sensed upon contact of the dispensing head with the substrate. The floating head liquid dispenser stops movement of the support member and dispensing head toward the substrate when the displacement is sensed to ensure proper positioning of the dispensing head relative to the substrate during a liquid dispensing cycle.

  • Patent number: 6234358
Abstract: An auger type liquid dispenser accommodates floating head operation by using a floating coupling along the dispensing axis between the motor drive shaft and a pump body coupling which holds the dispensing auger within the pump body in alignment with the dispensing axis, the floating coupling being variable in axial dimension to accommodate relative axial movement between the pump body coupling and the drive shaft during “floating head” dispensing. An auger cartridge removably connects to the pump body via a quick release engagement lever which radially and axially holds the auger cartridge relative to the pump body. This structure facilitates torque transmission to the auger while reducing wear, and the quick release lever facilitates connection to and disconnection from the valve body. The dispenser flowpath includes a frustoconically shaped transition portion residing adjacent the inlet to promote liquid flow without clogs.

  • Patent number: 5947466
Abstract: A paper feed apparatus for low profile printer including a rotatable paper feed drive shaft which is mounted for rotation in a printer housing which supports a first belt drive pulley or roller. The belt drive pulley engages a continuous belt mounted thereon of rubber or other flexible belt material. A paper supply tray having paper is selectively biased against the belt with the paper in contact therewith. The opposite end of the continuous belt is mounted to a idler roller or roller on a rotatable idler shaft which supports the continuous belt such that the 1 portion of said belt between the drive pulley and the idler roller which is in contact with the paper is disposed generally, (the belt run) to a paper path. On motion of the belt at least one sheet of paper is moved out of the paper supply tray. An inclined paper separator is mounted below the termination belt shaft and is selectively biased against the continuous belt at a point on the belt between the drive roller and the idler roller.
